How was your driving exam?

I had to take it twice.
First time was going very well, we were almost done but then I went through an empty rotunda without signal light. The examiner apologized and told me to pull over, because that mistake failed the exam.
The second time there still was that examiner - she recognized me, and told me to relax because she was sure I could pass.
I passed, and asked my teacher if she had gone easy on me because the exam seemed easier.
He then told me she told him she was ready to fail me on the spot if I did any mistake at all. Don't know why she had that idea.

Mine went very well. Where I live, they have a state police officer take you out for the exam. The one I got was a very friendly young lady in her 20s, and she was fine as fuck😅 I remember her getting into the car and saying “Hi, I’m Maria”, and I’m thinking to myself “…and I’m yours!”😍😍😍 I’m sure 16 year old me was JUST what she was looking for lmfao. I think I was probably at peak “fuck the police” mode at that age, but that was right out the window for this chick😂

Anyway, the test was pretty easy. We just drove through an industrial park, she had me back up in a straight line along a curb about 10-15 yards, and then when we were getting back to the lot of the RMV at the end of the test, I think I sealed it when I preemptively slowed down approaching a crosswalk that didn’t have anyone in it, but then suddenly had people pop out from behind a hedge looking to cross, and I was ready for it and was able to stop smoothly to allow them to walk. Maria gave me some verbal praise for doing so, and I was pretty relieved to hear that. She says “Ok, nice job! You passed!” as we parked. Now in my head i’m wondering if I should try to pull this chick’s number without getting cockblocked by the driver’s ed teacher in the backseat, but I think common sense re-entered the chat and I was like “nahhhhh, no way she’d go for a teenager in high school”, thankfully, lmfao, so I walked out with all Ws and no Ls😂

I failed the first time at the very end of the test with the parallel parking when I bumped into the rail. The driving instructor even got so annoyed and said, "What on earth? You were doing so well!" Then I was like, "Oops! Well, you know, I'm half-Asian!" :-D

I had to take the test using a pick-up truck while I got most of my practice on a teeny Honda Accord. After I failed the first time, I ended up practicing parallel parking a whole lot more with that truck and passed on my second try.

Strict teacher, but I guess she had to be that way. My exam--the man was very quiet and didn't say anything at all. I was nervous, but followed all the directions. I had gone to driving school and they were very good with me, and I passed the first time.
I know two people who failed--one was a guy who thought he would put his arm out the window and steer with one hand. Moron. The other was my sister's Father in Law who failed--17 times!! because he was a Spaniard and the test was in English. It wasn't until they made the test in Spanish that he passed.

Failed the first time because the examiner didn’t think I turned my head enough to the sides when I was looking left and right 🙄 Also had the same examiner the second time and I exaggerated my head movements and passed.

This is a common one, I have a friend who's an instructor and he told me many people get failed for that.
Every examiner is different, and some can be really finicky on those things or the things they think you are not doing well.

That was some 40 years ago.
On completion, my 'teacher' made a joke that made me think that I did not pass.
Quite a shock that moment.
Heh heh.
However, I have a habit of NOT failing any exam I take... but that one was a first-timer.

My twin brother and I took the road test together. My father knew one of the Registry cops and he gave us the test. It was in the bag.
