Do you have advice for me based on this idea that I have?

I realize I want to write a book that is designed to help people and not to make myself rich because being selfish bores me, just like airplane rides without books, music or tv screens bore me. I am not sure how I should approach this, is there any topic you feel I would be well suited to cover? Like yes religion but what subset of religion, like should I write about guilt or kindness or discretion? Or dating? Or mental health? Etc..

If you actually care about people and want to write something that helps people, it jas to come from within you and it has to come from the heart. To pick a topic and write doesn't help people. You have to see what is some deep pain and struggle within you that you have overcome or understood. Only writing from experience resonates. It can be external experience or internal experience. As much as we like to be objective, the core of our experiences are internal thus inner experiences and battles are best for helping people. Even just sharing these experiences can help people. The people that need it will find it. Good luck

Well, what perspective do you have that you feel would have a strong impact on someones life? What do you have to say that’s not been said the same way you would?

I have a lot of good ideas but I feel they are too religious for normal people - like normal people might need something more over arching

I am not religious, I will not touch a book that is blatantly religious. The issue is conflating truth with a book I do not believe in. However, I did read a book with religious undertones. It’s called “Happiness is a choice - the symptoms, causes, and cures of depression” by Frank minirth and paul meier. Somehow I got through that due to concrete advise, so it may be worth taking a look at. One thing I hate that it did was try and push one towards religion. For many, as myself, I am not interested in being converted. I have made my choice to believe purely in science, came to peace with my version of afterlife. I see religious practice similar to how you would see a cult. That being said I can look at the the morals and values in the bible and return with some value in it. The ideals must make sense.
