Yes, but only in ways that actually teaches them why what they did was wrong and what to do instead. When I was little and did something bad my parents made me stand in the corner for 15 or 20 minutes to think about what I did. Then I had to explain to them why what I did was wrong. If I was not sure, they would explain it to me. I think that's a decent punishment that results in something positive.

Of course. I’d rather punish them in my own home, in my presence than to have society punish them in a way that may cause them their life. If I don’t start at an age where they can understand, one day they will go out, try to do some shit because they think they can’t be punished.

My neighbours don’t punish their kid they try to redirect them. The result, whining, screaming crybabies.
