Tax payers and Lebron James have funded an school to help kids but for the past 3 years not one student has passed Math and only 8% passed state English exams.
Who is to blame? The students, parents, teachers, administrators, white people?

Money doesn’t always magically solve everything. Change requires sweat equity and a desire to improve yourself. It’s attitudinal. Is also heavily influenced by upbringing (sons raised by single mothers have it tougher).
With that said Lebrón meant well but this is unfortunate.
This one of the reasons I hate progressive politics. They keep dodging the ugly truths and hard to fix problems thinking it can be magically solved with (taxpayer) money.
No that’s not how it works.
I think Lebron is learning that. The Teachers Union took years off in Covid and test scores sank. They will say they need more money now as an investment in education but it was their desire to sit at home that caused this. The Catholic Schools did just fine because they went back into the classroom.
Yep. The ugly trust sometimes a mirror. Requires you to own up to your faults. But one side of the political seems to believe that admitting fault means “admitting defeat”.
Poor academic performance is always the fault of student and their family. You can put the best teachers in front of them but end of the day you can't polish a turd.
