If you have the chance to work for a very big game publisher and can develop a brand new video game what game would you create?

You have been hired to a video game company of your choosing, and they allow you to now develop your own video games which video games would you create and yes you will have a whole team working behind you?

I probably wouldn't mind working for Sony and I developed a brand new game kinda like a Saints Row and Grand Thift Auto type of gangster game, or I also create a new RPG franchise where each game comes with a different casts and everything kinda like a JRPG. But women and men which gaming company do you want to work for and which games do you have to develop?

I actually came up with concepts for several over the years, which I won't devulge specifics about, but I would almost certainly NOT let any of the current "big publishers" touch anything I came up with. Even the ones that have put out excellent content in the recent past have since sold out or are otherwise the same companies in name only. CD Projekt Red is the obvious choice for anyone who cares about story faithfulness, but the company is now the posterchild of Blackrock's ESG rubbish in the industry. The only prominent name that looks to be on the path of redemption is Bethesda, but they will become an unrecognizable company no later than whenever Todd Howard retires, which he has been alluding to, and furthermore they are a pawn of Microsoft now anyway. A major limiting factor is I would want to retain complete control and final say on anything I wrote, which thanks to JK Rowling is almost impossible to do anymore, and if that means any finished work I create never leaves the planning board, then so be it.

Yes most publishers tend to bring in tons of controversy as of lately and yes I am looking at Ubisoft and of course EA with their greedy assess is easy to think of.

It's not where I'd start, since it's a VERY ambitious idea and I have no experience, but assuming those weren't factors: I'd take the combat of Mount & Blade and the setting detail and development of Darklands, probably screw with the tech levels, Kenshi-style, and set it in a modified version of the border zone between Byzantium and Persia at the end of the seventh century.

Political, economic, cultural, religious, philosophical, and pretty much every other kind of conflict between two teetering empires, both exhausted by centuries of on-and-off war. And to the south, a great storm rising that threatens to tear EVERYTHING apart...

I would create a trivia-based race video game. You, and your online and AI competitors, start out in a TV game show and have to answer questions. Based on how many you get right, you get a vehicle, from a bicycle to a high-performance racing car. You then drive a challenging course to the first checkpoint, where you compete in another game show, get another vehicle and drive to the next checkpoint, etc. You keep doing that, competing against others online and against AI computers to the finish line.

Some of the questions along the way would be logic-based, while others would be straight knowledge-based trivia.

I'd try my very best to finally make a good desparation genere mmo style game.

so meaning there's gonna be "survival". there's gonna be base building, crafting and pvp. but the main challenge is the "survival", not the pvp. so it would actually be a lesser viable strategy to pvp and a more viable strategy to cooperate.

the challenge is: the survival can never get "too easy" and it can never get too "tedious/uninteresting". and that's very difficult, cause a progression is a system that can fix the "tedious/uninteresting part" but will inevitably make it too easy. and i know no better way to keep it engaging and exciting.

so yeah. i know exactly the problem why this game doesn't already exist.

I think with MMO since most of them tend to sort of team based and incredibly grindy you have to constantly loot and gear up so you doesn't be under level.

i think the original DAY Z arma mod came closest. though the survival aspect is not complex and tough enough. it would need a nutrition system like in "scum" and i think the map sizes should be crazy huge like in minecraft where you can actually never come across everyone for days if you head to the remote areas.

grind is a problem that many games have, which in many cases comes down to the fact that players choose the less fun mechanic in the game for the sake of effectiveness. like if you give a player 2 systems, one is to have a fun and engaging way of gathering ressources the other is to have a boring, tedious and boring but slightly more effective way, people weirdly choose to sacrifice their fun in the game for the efficiency of gathering ressources.

My favorite game on the wii was food network’s cooked or be cooked. Problem is that it was only 12 dishes. I wish they had done another volume or version of it. So if I had the power. I would make it available on the switch and d/l as many recipes as you want and play cook them. 👍🙂. Cooking mama is ok but I hate that annoying ooh better than mama!

Well I personally don’t know how to cook. Always loved the original dinner impossible on food network and a lot of the other shows on there too. I still don’t know how to cook but I wanted to learn so much that I went to community college to be a chef. Unfortunately the chef didn’t like me and I had to chiffonade a lettuce leaf. That’s roll a lettuce leaf and cut it into ribbons. The damn chef had his iPhone on stop watch right in front of me so already I was nervous then he said hold your knife higher! I said I was comfortable with the way I was doing it. He said I said hold your knife higher! Big mistake - by listening to him I cut my pointer and middle fingers with the knife. But my knife was really sharp because I didn’t notice any pain - Oh and he said when we first started the course that nothing bothered him. - But when he saw the blood coming out of my fingers I dropped the knife on the cutting board and he was Wincing looking at my fingers - Ha! He lied and in a way I got back at him because I’ll never forget his face. Then the pain came in and I grabbed paper towel’s and wrapped them around my fingers and I said Ouch holy jumping jiminy jackrabbits! I remember washing my bloody fingers in the sink but I can’t remember what happened after that - if I bandaged up or he did. Unfortunately I didn’t pass the test and had to drop out of the class and course. But I still want to learn to cook.

I would create a game featuring a rock band, with these people - a drummer, keyboardist, base guitarist, rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, and vocalist. Maybe a Sax Player. The player could be any one of these people in the beginning, and the game would focus on goals - better songs, better playing, record deals, concert gigs, and fun with groupies... and much more.
