Hello friends, I am 18 years old, I got into university normally and I am currently in my second year studying mathematics. The reason I chose mathematics was because I liked solving problems during my student life, but I also love biology. I barely studied the 1st grade and decided to drop out of school. Although I am currently registered as a student, I do not go to school and I am preparing for university from scratch (I will study in the Netherlands). None of the options offered as a department make me say "Oh, I would enjoy doing this profession in the future" or "I see myself in this profession." I think it would be more accurate to say that I don't know what I like, I really don't know what my hobbies are, what I enjoy. I don't know myself. What should I do for this? How can I decide which department to choose or how can I find what I like to do? When I look at my social life, there is nothing that I enjoy doing regularly. I played computer games for a long time, but I don't enjoy it anymore. If anyone can help me with this, please write.

Hey, it sounds like you're going through a lot right now trying to figure this stuff out. I think the most important thing is not to stress too much - you're still young and have time to find your path. A few things that might help:
- Try some new hobbies or activities just for fun, nothing serious. Maybe join a club at school for hiking, music, cooking - whatever seems cool. Getting out of your comfort zone could lead to discovery.
- Talk to others like family, teachers, counselors. Tell them what you wrote here. They may have ideas on careers to explore or ways to narrow it down.
- Maybe take some gen ed courses in different subjects first semester instead of picking a major right away. That way you can learn without commitment yet.
- Don't be afraid to change your mind later if you decide something isn't for you. Part of figuring it out is trial and error.
- Most of all, don't stress! You have time to find passions. Just keep an open mind and be willing to step out of routines. Something will click eventually.
Hope this helps give you some ideas. Let me know if any of those resonate or if you have other questions!
Colleges in the US have counselors and you can go and see one and talk about your future. You might take a test to see where your interests are and what your strengths and weaknesses are. This usually helps eliminate some things that are a bad fit.
Thank you so much. I didn't know they served non- uni students. good to know
