They are both incorrect descriptions of how physics works (we don't actually have a working explaination for how physics works).
Unifying thoery is the attempt to find a way to merge the two, in order to fill in the logical holes that each presents, but thats pointless. You can't make 2 wrong answers into a correct one, if there are things that don't fit the explaination, then the explaination is wrong. Yet no one seems to be coming up with a third explaination (that isn't far dumber than those 2).
What are your thoughts? (religious comments will get deleted, as will any about everything being a simulation, this is a scientific discussion, not a faith discussion, your idea has to have a way to verify it or logically/mathematically work it out).
In Genesis, . . .
Sorry, I'm just kidding.
You're not wrong, the current theories don't accurately describe every interaction we can observe. But it's currently the best we have, it's also the most accurate in recorded human history.
The biggest problem I see with things currently, is Dark Matter.
It's ridiculous that Dark Matter was accepted in the first place as a valid theory, worth investing resources and time into. If for no other reason than it simply a bit to convenient that it solves all of the major problems that were didn't have any answers for at the time.
Since then, roughly 15% of the "missing" mass that was credited to dark matter, have since been attributed to gas giants. Which makes sense, because until 1990's they didn't really think planets were at all common place around other stars.

all I know is that if I take an extension cord, neatly roll it up, store it, then come back to use it later, it has nots and twists in it that should not be there as no forces acted upon it to make it happen, so physics is BS
