It all depends in which country. A number of countries have different regular working hours.

Take the Mediterranean countries like Spain, Portugal or Italy, they tend to start work later than in the Nordic countries. As @sawno states, in the Netherlands, it seems that 08:30 to 18:30 is the norm while in Spain, the start of the day is rather 09:00 AM.

Generally, weekly working hours span between 40 and 42 hours except for France which is slightly less.

Wages in Europe are relatively low except for Switzerland, which has quite high wages compared to a French worker.

So, are the workers satisfied with the salary they receive? Is the salary they receive sufficient for them?

I did make a typo its 8:30 to 17:00, so 9 to 5 but they don't include your break time here. So you have to start half an hour early so you can have that half an hour during your lunch break.

In most of those countries, the wages barely cover the cost of living. To that you have different national regulation concerning health coverage and taxes.

In Scandinavia for example, taxes can be as high as 70% of your income if you earn a high amount but health, dental and other costs are included whereas in other countries like Switzerland, nothing is included and while you may have a higher gross wage, once taxes and medical insurance is removed, you are still somewhat better off.

Although you state that you are from the US, I presume that you are actually from Turkey and I don't recommend you go to Western Europe and line up in the unemployment agencies.

I did not say that I am American, I am a university graduate and I know 2 languages, English and German, but I cannot find a job in the country I live in and the working conditions in the country I live in are very bad and the salaries are very low, so I want to live in Europe.

Unfortunately, our country was very good before, but our President rules the country with religion and destroyed our country.

Our President Erdogan is a dictator, she will never leave her seat, and Erdogan is an American project whose aim is to destroy Turkey and establish a great Israel. Erdogan serves America It is Erdoğan who divided Syria and assassinated the former president of Libya, Gaddafi.

Conditions are pretty good, and it's usually 35 to 40 hours a week on average
