How long are working hours in Europe?

I'm not in Europe and I wonder how many hours a day workers work in Europe.

Europe are many countries each with their own law.

The weekly working hours are between 30 and 40 hours. With 37 being the average across the european union.

And every worker has at at least 20 to 36 (again, different countries have different laws) days of vacation every year the regular vacation days like Christmas.

In Germany it depends on your line of work.

The office standard is 4 x 10hrs or 5 x 8hrs (+ 1 obligatory break not counted as working time) and at least 11 hrs break between two working days. (I think it's EU regulation). You can do up to 17 hrs of overwork per month. Registering your working time in EU is obligatory.

The doctors and nurses working on shifts in hospitals and ambulances have a different set up. People working in restaurants have different set up... and so on

A lot of European countries aren't a part of the EU.

it's true, and then they have their own laws. And you have to be careful as, i. e. costs of mobile roaming are really high in Switzerland because of no existing deals with the EU providers...
