My Top 10 Anime Series Of All Time - Part II

This serves as a follow up to my Top 10 Anime Movie List. Anime's are the bread and butter of any anime lover. This list can also be used as a starter guide for any anime newbie. So let's begin.

10. Stein's Gate

My Top 10 Anime Series Of All Time

This is one of the most epic romances ever, I was taken aback as the story leaps relentlessly albeit a slow start. So what does this anime have? Mad Science for one. Time Travel for two and one of the best romances written for an anime. Combine all these and Stein's gate makes the perfect blend for an obsessive anime marathon.

9. Code Grass R1 & R2

This is definitely one of the best anime's of 2000s decade. Spanning an epic 50 episodes across two seasons. This anime is a masterpiece in its own right. Massive battles, epic mecha duels, strategic minds, an obsession for chess, the usual harem and of course the cute little sister. Watch the rise and fall of our hero from doting brother into a murderer of millions through sheer intellect and a special power which I won't spoil. Definitely worth a watch. Especially if you are into the likes of smart and epic anime.

8. Death Note

Watch the epic duel between chaotic good and chaotic evil in this battle of the minds. This psychological/supernatural/thriller is so slick and amazing. You will be awed at the twists and deceptions between the characters. There aren't words to describe this show sufficiently. Two words. Must Watch.

7. Sword Art Online

Imagine you were in a virtually enhanced MMORPG created by a mad genius, who suddenly decides to take your life into his hands. This romantic fantasy action/adventure will leave you wanting more. An amazingly detailed world and beautifully developed characters make this series one of the best in the decade. This is a good starting anime for anyone who's interested.

6. Cowboy Bepop

Take the Solar System, add to it a post apocalyptic future plus dystopia plus bounty hunting plus noir. Meet the mysterious characters of Cowboy Bebop. This anime could make Quentin Tarantino jump for high fives. This is the last master piece of the previous millennium. And for many years reigned at the very top of the anime world. This spot shouldn't account for its legacy. Any natural anime fan will tell you how important this series is to the anime world.

5. Shingeki No Kyojin

This is a hard one to recommend for its not for the faint of hearts. That aside. This anime is ground breaking, makes use of the newest technology to produce some of the most dynamic and fluid anime ever. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. This anime is so strong, its hard to find a real flaw. Best for mature audience, the violence is very in your face. Other than that its definitely one of the best anime's in a long long time.

4. Gintama

Looooooooolllllll. This anime is hilarious. Best comedy of all time. This anime is so full of gags, it doesn't even take itself seriously. The humor is rib tickling. You will laugh so much before the episode ends, you'll probably end up with a tummy ache. Follow the life and misadventures of Sakata Gintoki and his friends. Its guaranteed to cheer you up, no matter how sad or miserable you are. Comes highly recommended.

3. Samurai Champloo

Ahem. This is an underrated anime. Combinimg the perfect blend of story, humor, bromance, samurai swordfighting and downright idiocy. This anime is a gem. The episodic format, the breathtaking visuals and soundtrack make it one of the most memorable anime's ever.

2. Dragonball Z

Yep, the heavyweight of heavyweights. Most of you don't need intro to this anime. It has forever left a mark behind on the anime world. Few can ever hope to attain its legacy, perhaps that's why it ranks second. Sorry old timer. Its time for a new reign.

1. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

What this anime does is nothing short of amazing. FMA is epic on all scales and provides the best story found in an Anime ever. Beautifully crafted and exquisitively told. This is my number anime of all time.

Afterword: As I mentioned before, this is my list. I shall be glad if I can have yours.

Honorable Mentions: In the millions, PM me and I'll always give you something new. So ciao.

  • A notable mention to kissxsis and heta koi.

    • Those are mature ecchi. Hetakoi is good. Kissxsis isn't all that good. This list is the bunch that pretty much defined anime the year they were released in.
