As I’ve mention before I’m primarily a shotgun user when it comes to FPS and TPS video games. I like shotguns because I consider them to be the no nonsense way of playing those types of video games. They require quick reflexes along with pinpoint precision and you also have to get up close to the enemy, making you play the game tactically. COD mobile is no exception and I only use shotguns, melee and launchers in this game because there is way too much
- strafe and slide-cancel spammers
- try hards using claw controls
- lag
- bullet sponging opponents
- campers
If used properly then Shotguns, melee and launchers can negate all that BS. Here is my ranking of the shotguns in this game.
HSO405(Best): Real name Winchester 1887. Lever action shotgun with extremely high power, great range and narrow spread. Despite this gun being nerfed it is still arguably the best shotgun in the game. I mostly use this gun to “skeet” slide-cancel players out of midair and pop strafe spammers as they come around a corner. The only downsides are it’s slow reload and slow lever action animation.
R9-0(Proficient): Real name is the Keltec KSG. One of the newer additions to the game. This shotgun has high power, fast bolt/pump time, high capacity by default, a fast reload time and the ability to shoot in two round bursts or single shot. The downsides are it’s very poor range, wide pellet spread and weight which slows down its user. This gun is best used with Gung-ho as it can be used to compensate it’s poor range. I beat a pro player with this thing in Battle Royale. The pro player was slide canceling and using a KRM but I used my reflexes and precision with my R9-0 to best him. It was so satisfying to humble a slide cancel spammer “pro”.
KRM262(great): A fictional futuristic pump action shotgun with high power, great range and alright sway. When this gun first came out, it was on par with the HSO415 but as too many players were complaining that it’s too OP, it got nerfed by widening the pellet sway and pellet spread. It’s still an OP gun but it isn’t quite as reliable as the HSO415 anymore. Although it still does have a faster reload and pumping time.
Jak-12(very Good): Real name is AA12. The newest shotgun in the game, a fully automatic shotgun with the best range, fast reload speed, exceptionally fast fire rate and tremendous damage. I’ll enjoy this gun while it lasts because it’s probably going to get nerfed within the next few seasons. This gun is perfect for taking on strafe spammers, slide cancel spammers, quick scopers and campers. It’s ridiculously OP. I’ve made many slide cancel spammers and quick scopers rage quit with this thing. I’ve also destroyed XS1 Goliaths with this thing. The only downsides are that it takes about 2-5 hits to defeat an enemy and is weaker than the HSO, KRM and R9-0. However I have used this shotgun to defeat slide cancel spamming HSO405 and KRM players.
Shorty(Good): As the name implies, this is a sawed off shotgun and unlike the other shotguns, this gun is classified as a “pistol”. So you can carry it as a secondary weapon. Since it’s only a sawed off double barrel shotgun, this gun has very limited range and a low capacity mag. This gun was very good when it first got released but after a few seasons it got nerfed, it now has less range and wider spread. However by using slug rounds, gung ho and lightweight perks; this shotgun is still very versatile. I actually managed to defeat players using KRM262s and Jak-12s with the shorty. You’ve got to be proficient with shotguns to be able to use the shorty and you can also use the shorty to further improve your shotgun skills.
Echo(Past it’s prime but still alright): A shotgun that once made tryhards rage quit is now a mediocre shotgun with wide spread, poor range and low fire rate. This is another full auto shotgun gun that got nerfed too much because of all the salty slide cancel spammers complaining. On the bright side, it can still be reliable with the Gung-ho, lightweight and the drum magazine.
Striker(Love it but hate it at the same time): A semi auto and full auto shotgun with a very slow reload time and very weak power but alright range and fire rate. In the right hands this gun can actually be pretty good. Gung Ho, lightweight and the fast reload perks are the best combos for this gun. I can still use it in ranked to counter strafe spammers, slide-cancel spammers, quick scopers and campers.
HS2126(Hit or miss): This shotgun is very unusual as it is a 4 shot burst shotgun, unlike it’s real life variant. Sometimes it’s good, other times it’s bad. I have been using it in ranked to anger campers and slide spammers but other times it’s useless cause all 4 bursts have to hit to get a kIA on a opponent. By using gung ho and lightweight this gun can be pretty OP. It also depends on the map, some maps render this shotgun obsolete due to it’s unusual mechanism.
By15(Shell of it’s former self): A Mossberg or Remington style shotgun. Out of all the shotguns, this shotgun got nerfed like no other. It started off as a rival to the HSO405 but now is less reliable than the striker as it now has a ridiculously wide pellet spread, wide pellet sway and bad range even with all the range enhancing attachments. I don’t even think the gung ho perk or lightweight perk can save this gun. This gun got nerfed more than superman usually gets nerfed in his comics and cartoons.
Honorable mention, Oden: This isn’t actually a shotgun, it’s an assault rifle. However once you level it up completely you unlock the special duplex rounds attachment which technically turns this gun into a long range full auto shotgun. The only downside is that it has bad hip fire accuracy. As an AR it’s exceptional, as a shotgun it’s crap.
So yeah those are the current shotguns in the game ranked from best to worst.
