Why do people spoil movies lol?

A kinda family member (not related to me but whatever) said the whole ending of this one movie that came out this yr mind you, and I'm like dang you just spoiled the movie lol... She just said oh well I thought everyone seen it by now...😱😒😒. I'm the type of person that don't say much ab a movie even if it came out 20 years ago lol you just don't know you know

Definitely relatable. My mums the worst. Whenever she watched a movie, she never understand it even if the plot is super basic. She would look up the plot and then tell us even thou we don't want to know. It's annoys the hell out of me but I thinks it just a habit or they don't think before they speak.

well i'm a big fan of the murder she wrote (old tv series)
in one episode a guy is found dead with a letter opener stabbed in his back and i had just started 2 watch the episode and my elder sister ruined it by telling me the plot and the woman who had stabbed him in the back

People like to know they are better than the next person. Seeing a movie before someone else does is a way that person is better. So they also feel the need to brag about being better by spoiling the movie. Spoiling also solidifies that they have something you don't or won't have.

I think it has to do with the fact that they like it so much they just want to talk about it with everyone and even think that if they like it so much everyone else will too, and they will see it as soon as they did.
