How come there were no black people in the movie titanic?

OMG... call Jessie Jackson!
Your question is as dumb as people who complained about no blacks in "Frozen". Here is a hint, "Frozen" takes place in SCANDINAVIA (not so many blacks).
As for Titanic, this was an ocean liner traveling between England and the U. S., carrying european and American passengers (almost entirely white at that time).
I am really turned of by movies that force racial balance even if it distorts the historical perspective. In your movie the Captain of the Titanic would have been a black woman, and the iceberg would have been a white male.
One of the problems with historical films is that history doesn't have our sense of fairness. Aa there were only three people of known African heritage on the Titanic it's not surprising that we wouldn't see any of them in the film. en.m.wikipedia.org/.../Joseph_Philippe_Lemercier_Laroche
As far as the dock scene where they were boarding, it took place in Ireland. Ireland had a very small population of people of African decent, mostly because it didn't participate in the slave trade en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_people_in_Ireland
That's largely a matter of historical fact. Joseph Laroche, a Haitian-born, French-educated engineer traveling with his family, is believed to be the only black man among the passengers on the Titanic. It would not be far fetched to not feature one man out of 2,435 passengers.
Thanks. I didnโt know that. Did he survive?
Also, feel free to follow you if you want. I like talking about history.
@WhiteShoulder from what I understand, he went down with the ship after helping his wife, daughters,, and others off the ship. His family were later rescued.
Thank you
Historically there were very few wealthy black people in 1912 and Iโm pretty sure none of them were on the Titanic (least thatโs what my black girlfriend told me, and her family was around back then).
I do wish the Asker would say something. Iโd like to engage with him.

They're doing a remake with an all black Muslim crew who will all be in homosexual marriages. It'll be a comedy. What do you call a passenger liner with hundreds of commie snow flakes on the bottom of the sea? Answer: A damned good start.
@Texaskid1 I'm an ass hole lol If I end up a hero it will be purely by accident.
because it sailed 1911 from Belfast Irland to New York City USA.
During that time there weren't many (if any) black people living in Irland.
So no black people on the Titanic back than and the movie is historically accurate so no black people on the movie ship.
A combination of 90s casting and the story taking place during the colonial age and is a doomed-romance story focusing on two Caucasian characters. I think we can do better now, but itโs still a great, if overhyped, movie.
Were there any black passengers on the Titanic when it disembarked in 1912?
If there were in actual history and they drowned, then you would be complaining about that.
Another but hurt african?
You just need to check hostorical facts about this movie before 'is it bc I'm black' BS
they were there. they just didn't show them locked up in the ship's prison for trying to steal the expensive dinnerware. Now THAT would have been historically accurate. :D
You try putting a blacky back on a boat and see how it turns out. 😂😂
For historical accuracy. We didn't import any black slaves to Ireland. So there were very little black people in Ireland in that time period.
Whatโs more sad is you noticed that
I think there was only one or a few black people on the actual titanic
Not many black people in Belfast
Black Irish don't count? :) :) :)
@OlderAndWiser no, but this is probably the only instance or Irish people being better off having stayed in Belfast rather than come to America
Indeed! (I have many Irish ancestors.)
@OlderAndWiser the county I'm in has the highest percentage of Irish-Americans in the country
Accuracy.
And here we go... 🎻
