What do you think of the new Star Trek Picard Series?

Im not a Trek fan, so Im allowed to enjoy it and I don't know exactly why it pisses most fans off.

The writing is crap. It's oblivious to the characters past, feels like generic sci fi. Unaware of key elements of the character and the setting. Sjw subliminal crap. I'm trying to give it a chance because I like Patrick Stewart, but so far I'm unimpressed.

I'm watching it but the plot is pretty convoluted thus far. At least Jeri Ryan finally made her debut. Hoping they start pulling everything together, because the elements are there but like others I worry about the ability of the writers to pull it off.

I tried watching it. Just couldn't get into it or STD or the new films. Just doesn't feel like star trek anymore. It's amazing if you think about it that on netflix TNG, DS9, VOY, Enterprise are some of the top watched shows yet new shows like STD have basically no audience
