I don't have a skin disorder or a chronic health condition but I can write pages upon pages about them.
How many music artists write songs about things they've never gone through?
Story telling, Music writing, Art is all about connecting with others.

Of course. It would probably be cool. But don't make the book about the condition. I would say choose a character and theme. Then just make the main character a person with that condition. Like a Starship captain or something.
