The term "accident" doesn't exist in naval aviation, which includes the USMC and the US Coast Guard. With lives on the line, to say nothing multi-million aircraft; there are no Acts of God, or "Shit Happens." Every outcome has a chain of events which will explain how it occurred. In virtually every case, this is due to some sort of error made by the pilot: inattentive, an incorrect control movement, or failure to follow BOLD FACE- a series of instructions/maneuvers which will correct known problems.
"Turn into the skid." There aren't many drivers who haven't heard this, yet few bother to implement it... before they run off the road. Unlike aviators, who will have to face safety and mishap board investigations, a Field Naval Aviator's Evaluation Board, and possibly a career ending JAGMAN investigation, at worst, car drivers will have their insurance rate raised. This is why people drive like idiots.
Florida (where I live) must have the worst drivers on the planet. There are so many accidents here that I sold my beloved BMW 540i (European delivery) and began leasing. Sure enough, the gentleman who bought my BWM was broadsided, destroying what was the finest automobile ever produced on this planet!

Not much to say. Accidents happen. People need to pay attention. But there are a lot of hours spent on the road so statistically, I get it.
What's with the last one, "Distracted Auto pilot"? Autopilot cars don't have distractions. I don't get it.
The driver was not paying attention, likely asleep, he drove into a crashed truck without stopping or swerving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfmAG4dk-rU
The texting and driving story is very sad. That’s the one that stands out to me the most.

The ones with the drunk drivers and the texter make me smh. Those people have no self control. They can choose not to drink or text before/while they drive. They know that's the right thing to do. Road rage can get people into trouble as seen by this situation. I think most of these accidents could have been avoided if those people used common sense
Very tragic, and avoidable.
