The Exorcist. My brothers loved watching horror movies when we were kids and would make me watch scary movies with them from a very young age and then they'd scare me/pick on me as I was the youngest one in the family! if I refused to watch scary movies, they'd tease me. 😒 Brothers can be so mean.

When my youngest brother wanted to watch The Exorcist, I joined him. We didn't read the reviews/sypnosis. Little did I know that I'll have to see a creepy little posessed child stab her own... I don't even want to say it. Even after 14/15 years, I can still remember that scene very well and how I screamed and ran away. It scarred me for life, you?

Off the top of the my head I cannot think of a movie, but the show "Unsolved Mysteries" really creeped out. The music for starters was something that when you heard would give you goosebumps and completely creep you out. Richard Stacks narration, combined with the actual interviews of people connected to what was going on was scary in the sense that every story was based on real life events. As for the reenactments the acting may have been a little cheesy, but it did not change the facts. I highly disliked the totally unexplained atrocities that have never been solved, from murders, to missing people, kidnappings, serial Killer's, cults, UFO's, Alien Abductions, the Supernatural (ghosts, exorcism as well and all manner of creepy stuff) . . . Some outright evil

I feel like I could go on and on. I think the one that really bothered me was about a lady dressed in a whight gown who would wander the roads at night along the side of the road. People would stop to see if she needed help and their interactions with her really scared me. The fact that she would be there wandering along the side of the road one minute then somehow disappear without a trace. The show Supernatural had an episode that very closely reminded me of this except their version was far creepier and actually killed people 😳.

There was another one where a UFO 🛸 apparently abducted a couple people putting them through all these strange unexplained things. In this instance I had a dream that was so real that at one point I couldn't tell if what happened really was a dream or had happened. I still wonder from time to time.

My Foster Parents always watched it at night time right before my bedtime. Everyone knew I didn't like it, but I could either watch or go to bed. When I was upstairs in my room I was still able to hear the creepy music and muffled noises of the narration, interviews and reenactments. I was so sensitive too it thar I'd shout downstairs from my bedroom for them to turn down the TV multiple times.

Now that I'm older I don't mind the show as much, but it doesn't really air much anymore. One of the streaming services streams the original series, but i'm not sure which on (think It's Amazon Prime).

Not really, but some... The movie All Dogs Go To Heaven features the protagonist get murdered by his business partner, but he goes to heaven, because he's a dog, and, well, see the title. But he gets bored and wants revenge, so he sneaks out and returns to Earth, being told as he flees that "if you leave, you can never come back".

At one point later on, he finds himself adrift on a boat, floating placidly on a calm lake. But then he looks down, and discovers the boat is made of bones, and the lake turns to lava as a demon shows up and belches a gout of flame towards him. He dodges it, but from it spring little imps that bite him and begin pushing toward the lava as the boat starts sinking, and a deep, mocking voice taunts him with "... you can never go back!". Then he wakes up. All a dream. But that scene scares me NOW; I have no idea how it didn't when I was a kid.

And speaking of Don Bluth: the Brave Little Toaster. A group of appliances, realizing they've been abandoned by the family that used to visit the house they occupy, decide to head out and find them. They eventually wind up at the new apartment, but discover they've been replaced and are thrown into the dumpster by the new appliances. Then comes the scene at the junkyard, where they try to flee from a giant electromagnet which tries to pick them up and drop them onto a conveyor belt running underneath a crusher.

Spooky, right? Hah! That's NOTHING. See, the junkyard isn't empty; while they evade the magnet, it grabs nearby cars, who sing what is EASILY the most memorable song in the movie, "Worthless", about how their glory days are over and their owners abandoned them. One, grabbed by the magnet, even shouts "excuse me while I PANIC!" as it's dropped on to the belt and crushed into a cube; they're clearly being sent off to whatever their equivalent of death is. And not only do none of them try to resist, one even DRIVES ITSELF onto the belt, not waiting for the magnet. It's what should be the title track of "songs to commit suicide by". It's not a SCARY moment, as such, but it's traumatizing nonetheless.

o hell yeah. there's was this movie called centipede and the plot was pretty much how this guy was having an off day after a strange encounter with a woman and started coming in contact with predator like aliens. Anyways this one specific scene scarred the hell out of me which was, the male protagonist and the strange lady he met got sent to a holding cell at a booking place and the woman starts having strange convultions resulting in her screaming, " I can't take this anymore." or something akin to that. Then popping a squat and saying, "its coming!" and the male protagonist who is in the same holding cell is backed into the corner. Or was he in the other cell? I can't remember. ANYWAYS, so a rational person would think she's going into labor but nope!

As she's screaming in the squat formation, what looks like a babies head, slowly reveals itself to be simply just the head of a baby but the body of a centipede that doesn't stop once it touches the floor, blood spraying everywhere, I don't know if the lady died. All I know is the guy escapes the cell and runs in horror and the guards who put him in there turn out to be aliens too. I was like 11 or 12 when I watched that movie with my uncle and cousins. We all went to sleep that night alternating between silence, weary laughter, and making shocked comments. Those indie movies from the early 2000s were on psychedelics to the max i swear.

First time I watched it I was 5 and thats probably the only reason it had such a big impact on me. whenever a pic pops up of that clown on my timeline I’d be lying if I said I don’t scroll quick. I don’t have a fear of clowns in general anymore just that specific one sends chills down my back now. I’m pretty sure for a while after I first watched it I wouldn’t shower/bathe with the door shut and someone had to be on the same floor, also didn’t go near clowns at carnivals. Turned me into the ultimate chicken as a kid😂

I'd say "The Thing".
I watched it with my mother when I was 11 and I spent years having nightmares that her or other friends and relatives could be the Thing.
Basically it's about an alien that can take the shape of everything it absorbs and can transform in gruesome ways.
It starts off as a creepy silent dog before it absorbs humans too and makes them impostors.
The worst scenes for me were the ones where a guy's blood literally jumped away (because he was a Thing) and so his head starts to swell and boil; and when a woman faints because she's hit by an explosion, her friends help her but her hands become centipede-like monsters and jam themselves down a guy's throat.

Oddly I loved very horrific films as far back as I can remember, starting with Alien which I saw in the theater at around 5-years old. So horror films might have influenced me quite a bit but not in a traumatic sort of way.

Ugh, my coworker brought this movie to work called "Tusk". It actually started out really good, like a regular kidnap/thriller movie, and my coworker was surprised I was so into it. I thought, "Why wouldn't I be?"
Then the crazy guy started telling him how he was shipwrecked and a Walrus was his only friend, and basically he wants to turn himself and the guy into a Walrus, and he started doing an operation on him and I was like, "Okay, I'm done with this movie."

But I made the mistake of reading the whole plot online. Trust me, you don't want to know anymore.

There were 2 movies I think I was 10 or 11. When was called Soylent Green where are planet is basically like it is right now running out of Natural Resources but they started eating people and nobody knew it it is a pretty good movie... lol

I saw the Silence of the Lambs trilogy and that was both the most scary and interesting thing ever. During that time, both the girl I was dating loved pistachio nuts. I prefer the whole nut in mouth because I like the salt.-When I would process/eat the pistachio, it sounds just like the SLURPING noise Hannibal made.

Hmmm... I guess the closest answer to your question would be "The Fly" (1986 David Cronenberg version). It's an excellent horror movie, but not for the faint of heart or children.
Another good example would be the infamous zombie movie "The Evil Dead".
And as honorable mention, the original "Alien". I was never a fan of the scene where the newborn alien breaks through the guy's chest. :-o

When I was in my teens, a few of us were round at a friend of a friend's house and he put on this snuff movie. Only we never knew what a snuff movie was until after we had watched it. It all looked SO very real, because it was!!!
To this day I still have nightmares about it.

When I was in high school, I went over to this girls house I was dating. She put in this movie called Cannibal Campout. One scene tbe guy cuts open this ladies stomach while pregnant and eats her baby. And this movie had that amateur look to it, so it made it worse.

Oh loads, Charlie and the chocolate factory taught me if you have any faults as a child you're set for immediate punishment, Grease taught me that if you want to be attracted to your crush then rather be yourself then change your whole identity/personality and I'm not sure I've ever recovered from my older brother showing me Nightmare on Elm street at an age where learning to walk was still not that far off from my greatest achievements lol

Not movies but short clips. Yea my younger sister would dig up weird clips of ghosts and moving objects online and she would want me to sit with her so that she could feel safe.

Not quite scarred for life , but was a shocker when it was aired , and it could have become very real back then during 1984/85 , when the Cold War was still lurking. The British made movie was called Threads , and depicted the events leading up to , and then a full nuclear exchange between the then USSR and USA / NATO , set in the northern English industrial city of Sheffield , which was destroyed by a large Soviet nuclear warhead , the aftermath scenes were horrifc , reality would likely have been even worse. The USA had a similar , but slightly less bleak and shocking movie around a year before , The Day After , which still was hard hitting & sobering.

Not scarred for life, but seeing one of the Poltergeist movies (1 or 2) when I was a little kid freaked me out. A bunch of fucked up stuff happened on the set during filming those movies, and to the actors in those movies after filming them. They say there's "the curse of Poltergeist" and there have even been a couple documentaries made about it. One of the most creepy movies I ever saw is The Shining with Jack Nicholson.
