This is kinda old news (not that old, maybe a week ago so I’m kinda late)

If you grow up with a rich successful family, I think you have no right to sit here and talk about other peoples work ethic. I’m not saying that Kim has never worked hard in her life, I know she was going to school and she probably put a lot of work into her businesses. But she had it a lot easier than the rest of us because her parents were rich, her family become billionaires because of her sex tape and a dumb reality show.

She was able to start these businesses because she already had the money to do so. While the average person has to work two jobs just to afford rent.

Of course if you want to achieve something you need to work for it. But she doesn’t seem to get that we have to work 10 times harder than she had to. Just because we don’t have a million dollar business doesn’t mean we are lazy or don’t work hard.

The audacity of her saying that whilst being the textbook example of a product of the rich and privileged, is just so wildly out of touch it is truly remarkable.

Why do we continue to give this women time and space? And let’s not forget she makes her social media work look very easy. The only thing that she really worked hard on was to make sure she looks as perfect as a doll with no imperfections, giving women an unrealistic beauty standard that we are now slaved.

I believe her that she thinks that what she does is hard work. She's outsourcing any real life work that the rest of the world would never consider a "job" (raising your kids, cooking your food, driving yourself to work, managing your schedule, doing your hair and makeup, cleaning your house, running errands, doing your own finances...) so she's basically left with having her pictures taken (by someone else), attending meetings (in which all the creative, technical and managerial work is already done by someone else) where she has to say yes, no or ok, and doing selfie promo content (in which the script/caption was written by someone else). These women have literally less work input than a 12-year old school girl, so her advice is useless

I like Kim Kardashian, and I support her message. She’s an incredibly hardworking woman, not to be confused with her beauty. I can’t imagine how exhausting it would be to dress up to the nines every day, travel constantly for business ops, and have camera men follow my every move each time I left my driveway. Regardless how she reached her fame, she’s not wrong in saying people are lazy. People (who are capable) SHOULD work. Too many are out here breeding in poor populations, setting extremely low standards for their young, and encouraging livelihoods off government handouts. Some people are holding thousands in food stamps and don’t know what to do with it all, meanwhile $400 gets taken out of my check every couple of weeks, and I’m still paying $12 for a pack of bacon. If you aren’t already doing so, get to fucking work. You’d be pissed too if you made millions, and a high percentage got taken out to support these ungrateful bums. It was asked in the context of if someone wants to be a successful business owner. She wasn't wrong that's what it takes to succeed in business at the level of multimillionaire. People are acting like she was talking to all women in general. Let's be real for a second I'm not a Kim K fan by any means but she is sucessfull. It sounds like it struck a nerve with a lot of people. Could be some insecurities flaring up. It's easy to make excuses for not achieveing success but people from all ethnic and financial backgrounds with a range of handicaps and disabilities have found success. I say the odds are higher if you take advice from someone who is sucessfull vs accepting the excuses and reasons why it was easier from those who are not sucessfull. That said, I don't know much about her but generally I think anyone from any background can realize what hard work is and what it can give. Not saying she knows anything about it but she could.

Hard work for me is less physical and more mental, but that's only because I personaly find self-improvement so taxing.
Im by no means a physically strong person but I got stamina and patience to keep at it until it's done, still don't see it as hard work.

Working hard socially.. I'm not sure what that is like. To only show a certain side to entertain viewers, to lie or whatever. It can be habitual I guess, but whether it is hard or not must come down to who you are as a person right? I don't know..

I mean, when she said it, I immediately thought it was silly cause like HELLO, tell us something we don't freaking know already! Of course we all should be working.
However, I do think that celebrities automatically come from a biased perspective because when you're surrounded by money and fame and fortune, it can be easy to forget what it's like being on the other side. The Kardashians are women that were born into money so their luck was kind of handed to them.
I feel like she was also just saying words just to say words which was just foolish and overall just unnecessary. What she forgets is people like us don't get to just pick and choose, we have real world problems; living pay check to pay check, having to work 2-3 jobs just to make it, being a stay at home mom/ dad where you may not always be able to afford some top notch nanny or baby sitter to watch over them, struggling to build credit, in debt, can't keep a penny in our pocket due to bills and car notes and children and food, etc. We all don't have the privilege to just take a picture and post it on the internet and get paid for it, Kim is being paid because of her looks, we can't all relate to that. We do not all have that luxury, and of course not to bash anyone because we're all beautiful without any of that stuff, but it's just the whole point of the matter.
Celebrities sit on money and think that life is just a breeze, I will never understand that.

Didn’t read it all, but I think she is struggling to come to terms with the difference in opportunity, that she has been given. Verse everyone else.

Does she work hard? Absolutely. She has done herself proud with her work ethic. Does being given opportunity instantly mean you will become successful? Nope, it doesn’t.
However, I think if many of us ordinary folk had been given a reality show, and born into her type of privilege, we could have made a lot of money also and worked just as hard maybe.

This is why applying for reality shows has become so unbelievably popular in this era. People now associate it as a gateway to success. However, I just don’t think the positives outweigh the negatives. Just think of how much crap some people get on here, just by respectfully expressing a difference in opinion? Now imagine that 10,000 times more, and it being shoved in your face on a daily basis. To me fans just ain’t worth the negativity.

However, I truly don’t believe she is a bad person. It’s just really really difficult for people to understand the difficulties others face, when they have not experienced those difficulties themselves. If I got a big reality show from a young age and ran in celebrity crowds, I’d probably be thinking the same way she does.

I don't follow the Kardashians and couldn't care less about their lifestyles. I do think she has a point that people should get up and go to work, though. This is a huge issue where I live, where I actually know of people who have quit decent paying jobs to get on food stamps and there have been panhandlers on every street corner while nearly every place in town has a big "now hiring" sign in front of the building (and plenty of these hire felons, too). I understand some may be disabled in some way and disability doesn't pay much, and I do feel for them, but there are also plenty that seem able bodied and able minded enough that I'm sure could get some kind of a job somewhere. I also understand that perhaps not every place in the US is the same as mine, but coming from my perspective and experience in this area, I agree with her.

I know a good chunk of people who feel entitled to things without having to work for them, and truly believe that no one should have to work if they don't feel like it (nice sentiment, but who is going to do dirty/dangerous but extremely necessary work like working at the water treatment/sewage plants or being a lineman? Are we going to go back to the horse and buggy days? Good luck with that!) We have a labor shortage, and as a result, a supply shortage, and prices are going up as a result (businesses have to raise prices to attract the help they desperately need and it still isn't working, and the demand of supplies are increasing while the supply is not meeting said demand, so naturally, prices are going through the roof). Ironically, the same people who refuse to work are the first ones to become outraged at price increases.

I don't care if someone is rich or poor, that doesn't make a difference in whether or not their points are valid. Yes, some people are dealt better cards than others, but that doesn't mean you can't make the best of what you have.

Everyone who succeeded believes they did so through hard work alone, when the reality is they had masses of help to get where they got, be it through rich parents, knowing the right people and getting them to invest, hiring the right people who knew how to improve their businesses. Not a single one did everything themselves but they all make out like it was all down to them and them alone.

To play devils advocate, I have seen online that the comment was really a jab at Kourtney (who said she doesn’t feel the need to work anymore and sick of it). Based off the harshness in how Kim made that comment then I’d hope she was speaking about her sister, but of course that may not be fact. Regardless though, the “advice” itself coming from her was pretty tone deaf. People get off their asses, commute hours a day to jobs, work hard and still barely make livable wages. I saw something online state that the top 1% income threshold in NYC is $777,126, and the top 5% is $265,530. Yet NYC’s minimum wage is $15 an hour.
