For WW1, there's not a lot of good ones, but 1917 as well as the much older The Blue Max are very good.
For WW2 era, Band of Brothers (a miniseries, not a movie) is about as good as you'll find. It has minor issues, but I would definitely rate it higher than Saving Private Ryan. The Pacific is a similar but not quite as good honorable mention, and Das Boot is probably the best "other side" as well as naval movie of the era.
For Cold War era, there's a lot of fairly equal ones but We Were Soldiers stands out, and the book it's based on is an excellent read as well.
For more modern times, Blackhawk Down and Lone Survivor are the best dramatizations, while Hornet's Nest is the best documentary/real footage compilation. I haven't seen "The Outpost," but I've heard it's very good, and I have read the book.
I deliberately left out pre-world wars movies because opinions vary greatly and I frankly have forgotten most of them that I've seen. "Zulu," "Master and Commander," and "Centurion" are all pretty good.
