It was somewhere between late `91 and early `93. We were play a gig at our home away from home, The Penguin Pub, in Youngstown, Ohio. After the show, as we were packing up to leave and there was no one but us left in the place, I found a plastic zip-lock bag of cassette tapes with no cases, just the tapes. They were mostly metal bands and other bands I'd never heard of, before.
I took them home with me and listened to them. Most of them, i didn't like, they were the same plebeian, formulaic modern metal shit that was flooding the market back then. There WAS ONE tape that I kinda liked a little but, I don't recall who the band was. There was also a tape called, "Frizzle Fry"! That one, I liked!! I've been hooked ever since!! I bought my own copy of the album and their third and, a few months later, when it first came out, I got Pork Soda, too!! Not long after that, we went to a Lollipaloooza show specifically to see them and Fishbone!!
In the past 20 years, I haven't been able to keep up with their output or their various permutations. Green Naugahyde was the last one I've been able to find.
Superb Opinion
I only discovered Primus in the last few years, I like some of their stuff but the rest I can take it or leave it. The video for "Winona's Big Brown Beaver" cracks me up for some odd, eccentric reason.

I have one of their album's somewhere, but I never listen to it. Something about them just doesn't work for me.
I haven't heard them in a long time. I used to have pork soda. I liked them. Are they still singing?
I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I like what they do.
