does that make me evil too?

Villains seem cooler because writers have a lot more freedom with them. The villain's reason for existence is to create the tension and drama of the story and to serve as the challenge or obstacle for the hero. The villain will be more likely to cross moral lines in either number or kind (or both) than a hero will. The villain will do things that will force the hero to step up and be counted, to grow and mature over the course of the story. In short, the villain will be the first one worthy of respect and to be feared.
The Critical Drinker did a good video on this some time ago...

Heroes are made out to be "perfect" and flawless in every sense of the way. Above that their mistakes and flaws are passed off as circumstantial and forgiven. We as common people often get punished like the "villains" we see and we now empathize with them. They are far from perfect. they get judged for every action they do, they rise above it and continue to be themselves without consequences for most part. They don't let emotion cloud their judgement. Just like us. If it wasn't for "Heroes", "Villains" would be winning... just like us.
I have always preferred the villains.

The thing is, there are different types of villains, and usually only one kind of hero ( maybe two ).
You villains with motives that you can relate to, villains who are just cool, psychotic villains, unintentional villains, villains who think they're doing the right things, villains that are just broken heroes.
There's actually a quote that might explain why some people like villains more: " A hero will sacrifice you for the world. A villain will sacrifice the world for you".You not the only one, you can google 'rooting for the empire' trope, you not necessarily evil.
Villains are realistic.
Good guys are often portrayed in movies as nearly perfect, and it's hard to relate to them. We all have our own imperfections and a dark side. So, villains are often more realistic than good guys are.one cannot exist without the other. villains are cooler with the cool costumes or weapons or powers etc. because it's like a dramatic reward for choosing to become evil.
I prefer heroes, I'm a perfectionist and optimist though.
No, it's just the way they are written. Heroes are often one-dimensional with a casual flaw thrown in sometimes. Villains usually have a lot of complexity that led to their evil ways.
No you’re not alone in that. Also it does not make you evil
No and no.
