I really enjoyed it.
I've only seen the anime, but I started reading the manga as well. Oda is a long-winded but fantastic storyteller and world builder that I keep finding new things to enjoy about as I read his work.
The live show was amazing!
It combines the anime and manga in really cool ways to make a story that fits in the Netflix formula and still performs really well.
There's details in the show I didn't know about but then found later reading the manga and it's really cool. You can definitely feel the love and respect the show creators have for the source material and author.
Plus Nami's actress got to play the scene that locked her in as a young fan to the One Piece series. That's just a magical moment.
The sort of PR and Japanese audience testing they did with the actors and characters they chose also was fantastic.
Overall, from writing to production to marketing, I think the team that made this has done a great job. I didn't expect to like Buggy as much as I did, lol.
Looking forward to the next season and Jamie Lee Curtis as Kureha, lol!

Its pretty damn accurate.
There are some things that changed, the Manga/Anime has much more fighting, and many more people in it. So there Netflix cut down to reduce the already insane budget slightly, but its not a huge deal, it doesn't change the story too much.
There are some more heavy story changes, eg. The roles for Coby and Garp are much bigger in the Netflix adaptation. Garp makes his first appereance in episode 68 (Netflix Adaptation ends with Anime Episode 45)
To my mind only, whenever these "live action" or even "reboots" appear, they always are never the casting choices that I, yes I, would've made. And I sigh and note to myself that I'll skip that one, I'll skip that show, I'll skip that movie. Lol I'm beginning to sound like a Krank at Christmas, both novel and film, wink 🫢😁

As someone who couldn't ever get into the animated version, I thought it was pretty good, especially compared to most crap that has been released in recent years.
I haven't seen it yet.. I watched the anime and damn near caught up, but I was waiting for JoyBoy to pop up, or at least to the fight with Kaido to fully finish.. I'm hesitant on watching it because despite it being good from what I heard it, I was always not so much into the love action bit, plus they seemed to have taken some good parts out. But I will get to it one day.
I'm tempted to watch the Netflix work... since I've never watched the anime
i thought it was a decent conversion to live action. considering most live action adaptations specially of anime are complete crap.
so far so good
follows a lot of the story line of the anime version
It was good but left out a lot
