This man honestly gets on my nerves lol. I find him so unlikeable in most of his films, but my top 5– Out of Time, Flight, Fallen, Heart Condition, and John Q

This is my absolute fave that i can watch repeatedly. He was so wreckless/clumsy it was funny. I rarely like Eva Mendes and Sanaa Lathan and this film was def one of those where i still disliked them lmao.

This is probably his funniest film to me. Again he was so clumsy/wreckless. I kinda like seeing him sweaty and vulnerable and not all cocky.

This film scared tf out of me the first few times I saw it. But he and John Goodman did so good.

I hate the vulgar language throughout the beginning of this film. It irked me to see them hurl racial slurs at one another. But once they started getting along, I really enjoyed this film.

Not sure which my mother made me watch more with her out of John Q and The Preachers Wife. John Q always made me so sad. Besides, the Preachers Wife was adorable but made you feel guilty for almost rooting for them to have an affair. Smh

I was definitely waiting for Remember the Titans and Unstoppable to be named. I enjoyed those! But im shocked no one named Ricochet or Heart Condition. I actually saw Ricochet for the first time last year. IT shocked the shit out of me how crazy the villain in that film was. He was purposely giving Denzel STD’s and shit as a revenge tactic. The man was crazy. That film is also the hottest i ever seen Denzel look lmao

Yeah, Denzel can be pretty intense in his roles! It's crazy how committed he gets. My top 5 would probably be:

1. Training Day - He was such a badass villain in that one, it was hard not to watch even though he did some messed up stuff. KING KONG ain't GOT SHIT ON ME 😂😂😂 CLASSIC

2. Remember the Titans - Such an awesome inspiring sports movie. Gets me pumped up every time!

3. Man on Fire - He went full vengeance mode in that one, so gritty and dark.

4. Malcolm X - Just an iconic portrayal of an important figure. Really made me think.

5. Fences - Seeing him do the drama stuff was cool too. Showed his range.

I can see why Flight would be high on your list, that one was tense. And yeah Ricochet was crazy too, gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about that STD spreading plot! Denzel really commits to his roles, whether they're good guys or bad. Dude always brings it. Good picks!

Totally, Denzel is one of those dudes who should have way more Oscars than he does. He always brings it so hard in every single role. Like you can just tell how much he puts into his craft and totally transforms into these complex characters.

It's kinda wild to me he's only won 2, for Training Day and Philly. Especially considering how many iconic performances he's given over the years. Like you look at some other actors who have multiple Oscars and you're just like how did DENZEL not beat them? Dude's been killing it for decades now too.

I really hope the Academy gives him one for Fences too, that role was unreal. Or at least some of these other performances they've snubbed over the years, like American Gangster or Man on Fire. He deserves to be recognized as one of the all time greats, which he 100% is as far as I'm concerned. No one does it better in the biz!

I was cringing the whole time he was on screen, deliverin those lines with no emotion at all. Even Christopher Nolan couldn't save that performance. Denzel must've been so embarrassed, I know I would be if that was my kid out there actin like a plank of wood.

JDW gotta sit his butt down and have a serious heart to heart with Denzel. Needs to learn all the secrets, get some private lessons or somethin. Cause right now he's just coastin on his dad's fame and not putting in the work. If he wants people to take him seriously as an actor and not just "Denzel's son" then he's gotta step his game WAY up. Take some notes from the master!

And true, I haven't actually seen too much of JDW's other stuff now that I think about it. Ballers seemed like a way better fit for him from the commercials. Maybe he's just not right for Christopher Nolan type roles where everything is so serious and convoluted. If Spike Lee cast him in something too then clearly other directors see potential there.

I'll give the dude more of a chance before writing him off. Acting is tough as hell, especially with a legendary dad. Who knows, maybe he just needed more experience and will find his groove over time. Thanks for calling me out on being too harsh - Denzel would probably tell me the same thing! Gotta support the kid more.

As long as JDW keeps taking roles and learning, I'm sure he'll develop into a good actor too in his own way. Maybe he'll find a style more suited to him than trying to directly copy his pops, ya know? And I'll admit, I still haven't seen most of his stuff. Dude could surprise me yet! We'll see if he gets his Denzel acting swag one day.

I can't rate them because I love so many of them. One of his most unheralded movies that I think is so much fun is "The Mighty Quinn". I tend to like the ones that don't get named all the time, except for "Remember the Titans". Sports movies are tough to do, but that's a fabulous movie.

My other fav's include Equalizer's 1 and 2 (that's a realistic bad ass dude, not like John Wick), The Bone Collector, Man on Fire, Devil In A Blue Dress, and the little known "The Little Things".

Bottom line - if Denzel's in it, I want to see it. I can't say that about too many current actors or actresses anymore.

Malcolm X- This is my absolute favorite roles of his and one of his best in my opinion..

The Book of Eli- This was a different more humble character for Denzel..

Training Day- I could see why he won an Oscar for this one.. It was different from any role he did before.. Imagine the same dude who played Malcolm X, playing a Crooked thug of a Cop..

Fences- This was classic Denzel, but he still acted his a$$ off in this movie, and I didn't like his character That much.

Glory- I really like the movie altogether, but Denzel definitely added to it.. Especially with the tear scene.. LOL..

And sorry but I have to include a 6th. "Fences" if you ain't seen this i highly recommend it. The entire movie takes place essentially in this yard. So you'd think it'd be boring but Denzel is just that good of an actor. The only reason The book of Eli beat it out for the 5th spot is I really like post apocalyptic movies.

And I really like this scene. Because he's got a hard way of showing it but he's telling his son he loves him. He's telling him the world is hard and he's making him hard enough to face it. He's teaching him dignity and that he demand that people show him the respect due. Because all good parents want better for thier children then they had. And you can see by the way his son reacts he raised a good respectful son.

I almost never watch serious movies, pretty much exclusively comedy, so I’m not sure I’ve even seen five Denzel movies, lmao. American Gangster is the only one that comes to mind. I saw Safe House recently and thought it was ok, but I'd say Glory and Philadelphia have the edge.

He's basically as good as his supporting cast so a cast like Matthew Broderick and Morgan Freeman or Tom Hanks backing him up would be hard to miss

Well, Virtuosity is a 1995 movie. I have seen that movie only a couple of times so I don't remember the plot so well but I will tell you what I know.

It is a movie about a former police offer named Barnes who was serving his sentence in prison (for taking revenge who killed his family) when he is released to track down a sadistic killer virtual reality entity named SID 6.7 which has entered the real world and then Barnes's senior makes a deal that if he manages to capture the entity and place it back in VR (Virtual reality) then he will be pardoned and will be released.

Then the movie proceeds with some action scenes and towards the end the module SID 6.7 captures a mother and a daughter whom Barnes goes to rescue. Eventually after a tough test set up by SID 6.7 he eventually manages to destroy the module and free the family.
