Why do some people always get bad grades in school/academics no matter how hard they try?

I was gonna answer this since I know a fair amount about the way students work. Gen z, fresh out of highschool, have diagnosed ADHD, and I'm now working for a degree in English teaching.

But judging from your poll options, it seems like you just wanna blame current technology instead of looking at the sociocultural reasons for this...

How are they graded?

Usually its how well a student meets their teachers expectation based of the class average.

And offcourse people who are below average will always be below average as they got a bad start to begin with.

If you change the grading system, those people will surely do better.

e. g. You could grade them on their own perfomance and how much they improved, and not by comparing them to others.
