I think a lot of students get scared and freaked out that they aren’t remembering certain material and seeing their grades fall to anything less than an A freaks them out even more.
If they don’t get a certain grade then some lose their scholarship or opportunity to get into med school or something. Their grades are supposed to reflect what they've learned and retained so it’s understandable.
Definitely. Colleges put so much pressure on students to get a specific grade and the punishment for not doing it is so severe that it becomes the most important thing. I ended up spending the day before an exam in the library cramming for an exam. I would memorize what I thought would be on the test, take the test and hopefully get a good grade, forget everything I just learned because I had to get ready for the next exam.
I ended up graduating and getting the piece of paper that everyone seems to require before they will hire you but could see that it is a flawed system.
Yes, but I don't blame them at all if we take into account the way this shitty society is structured which is based on competitiveness.
