What was your childhood comfort film/ Tv show?

My childhood movie was Matilda. It’s one of the few movies I can quote almost verbatim.

I hyperfixated on a bunch of stuff, but honestly? As bad as this sounds, the Teletubbies. 😬 When I was like 6 years old or so they were ALL I wanted to watch. I don't think I've ever loved anything as much as 6 year old me loved the Teletubbies. Then at 7 years old I similarly hyperfixated on dinosaurs, but the first of anything is always the strongest, haha. Anything after that and even things I like today were/is just a rebound to recreate the same emotions I felt during loving the Teletubbies. To no success. Lol. 🤦‍♂️

These days I can't really stand to watch the actual Teletubbies show as it's just extremely boring and repetitive and predictable as well, though my memories are still fond. And the Teletubbies are fun and easy to draw as well. I heard some people say that the Teletubbies are good to watch when on drugs (especially drugs like LSD or shrooms or psychedelics in general and shit), but I wouldn't know about that, lol.

There was a local TV host that had a show on Saturday mornings. He was a cowboy and he had skits and he had different animals and sometimes a guest star all in between different cartoons like Popeye..

I met him in person once and it was something I will never forget.

I don't think I had a comfort film/series. I watched many things I liked. Peter Pan, Chipmunks, X-Men, Grange Hil, Neighbours.

As a later teen tho I loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And rewatched it with my daughter when she was adolescent and she loved it too. I used to try mimick her dress sense and wore cross gold necklace and stuff like her. And later also brought a crossbow, axe and swords lol.

Even now I still love how she portrays a female can be both vulnerable and feminine yet strong, resilient and independent too.

I used to love this show called "Maggie and the Furious Beast".. Coming home from school in the 4th grade with some candy, and watching the afternoon cartoons starting off with that was the best.

Matilda was incredible. Matilda and White Chicks were played on repeat in my home growing up. Also Santa Clause... The Clause with Tim Allen. A Power Ranger's movie. I think I had a Dragon Ball Z movie. I didn't have cable, so the movies were my jam. Mrs. Doubtfire was Fire.
