So you're comparing a rpg set up like Skyrim to an rpg set up like Dragon's dogma?
Skyrim you could max out every single skill in the game if you play for long enough, you can equip any weapon or armor, mix magic with physical damage.
Dragon's dogma has classes and their weapons and abilities are locked to those classes.
Well, technically there is no maximum in my RPG, if you play long enough you can have absurdly high attributes and skills, but then so do the monsters.
So far, the strongest monster I've designed is the "Hundred-Handed One", which literally takes a couple hundred level 100 characters to fight one Hundred-Handed One. It's patterned after Scylla and Charybdis from Mythology.
So you're going for an MMO rpg genre? Or is this more like you invite a buddy to your world and they help you out?
Ah I see, that IS interesting. That sounds like you're leveling from scrub to demi-god. Long level journey is fun if the missions/quests aren't grindy.
I like the idea of inviting friends to your world to fight monsters. That's sounding more like Valheim. You could include aesthetic aspect as well, like a home or base you can decorate with your trophies so you can show off to friends haha.
Yeah, you can either hire/train henchmen/followers or join a huge game with enough players. There's no limit.
Like Smaug from The Hobbit would be like a level 20 Red Dragon in my game. There are creatures in my game which make him look like a baby.
Yeah your game sounds fun so far ๐
I understood the point you wanted to make with Smaug.
But technically Smaug isn't that grand of a dragon in the Tolkien universe ๐
he's just the last one. There were much bigger one's befofe him in terms of dragons.
Depends on what kind of character would I like to make.

In RPGs, maximum customization offers incredible freedom for creativity and personalization, allowing players to experiment with different builds and play styles. This can lead to unique and memorable gaming experiences, as you can craft a character that truly represents your vision. However, having classes provides a structured approach that can simplify gameplay, making it easier to grasp for newcomers. If you enjoy exploring endless possibilities and creating a distinct identity in the game, maximum customization is more appealing. 🌟
