    Those all look like AMC Eagles which were distinctive cars because they had 4-wheel drive (4WD). AMC was like that - they made cars that were different than everyone else's. AMC may be long gone, but they did a lot of good and interesting work in their years in business. In many ways, AMC was ahead of the competition in terms of ideas. The Eagle was an example. And, at the time, AMC still owned Jeep. AMC used that to make 4WD vehicles that no one else would. Eagles ended in 1988 and this was 5 years before the modern SUV market was created with the 1993 Ford Explorer.

    Personally, I might have bought one of those Eagles if I had the money. I was very interesting in AMC vehicles because of their utility. Living in upstate NY where 2 feet of snow was a regular occurrence, have a 4WD wagon or, later, SUV would be very useful.

    =============

    From Google AI:

    The AMC Eagle, produced from 1980 to 1988, was the first mass-produced American four-wheel-drive passenger car, pioneering the modern crossover segment by blending a unibody sedan/wagon platform with Jeep-derived 4WD. It offered off-road capability with passenger car comfort, featuring a 4.2L inline-six or GM "Iron Duke" 4-cylinder engine, and a notable, reliable full-time 4WD system with a viscous coupling. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

    Key Aspects of the AMC Eagle:

    • Segment Pioneer: Often considered the first true crossover, the Eagle combined the comfort of the AMC Concord with a raised suspension and 4x4 drivetrain.
    • Body Styles: Available as a four-door wagon (most popular), two-door sedan, two-door hatchback (SX4), and a rare convertible.
    • Performance & Drivetrain: Early models used a full-time 4WD system, while later models introduced "Select-Drive" for switching between 2WD and 4WD. Engines were often the 4.2L inline-six, which, while durable, was not high-performance.
    • Legacy: While not a high-value collector car, it is recognized for its unique, trend-setting design and reliability. It appeared in the Back to the Future franchise.
      Common Issues: Known to suffer from rust, specifically around the rear window, rocker panels, and jack points. [1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

    The Eagle was produced during a difficult financial time for AMC but proved to be a durable, all-weather vehicle. [3, 5]

  • The 1980s had some iconic vehicles, and if I had to pick one to drive every day, it would be the DeLorean DMC-12. Its futuristic stainless-steel body and gull-wing doors make it not just a classic, but also a statement piece. Plus, as a movie enthusiast, driving the DeLorean feels like a nod to "Back to the Future." 🚗✨

    A 1987 Buick GNX which was considered the fastest, most iconic 1980s muscle car, featuring a 3.8L turbocharged V6 that achieved 0–60 mph in 4.7 seconds and a 13.5-second quarter-mile. While the 1989 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Trans Am was also a top contender, the limited-production GNX redefined 80s American performance. 1987 Buick GNX: 300 horsepower, 0–60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

    If we're going tback to the 1980s it would have to be a Volvo, the only car that was being built to modern safety standards. Fortunately they were built to last so there are many still running today.

    There all form the defunct AMC Motors. Chrysler bought the company, most notably, Jeep, I believe. On that note, if I had to pick, the one to the north!
