I don't do Yoga, Greenyogi. But I do read a lot, mostly nonfiction.
I have read many novels in my life. And when I worked in the field, I checked out books on CD from the library to listen to in my car. I went through most of the stuff in the library - stuff that I would never spend time reading. But I listened to hundreds novels of different genres by different authors and found most of them to be highly entertaining and edifying.
At home, I read books to learn about history and have had my mind blow. Very few people are privy to factual history and they think that people who know the truth are crazy.
I have read many scholarly books about Palestine and Israel.
I recently finished reading JFK and RFK's Secret Battle Against Zionist Extremism: the Documentary Evidence.
Right now, I am reading a book called The Anglo-American Establishment by Carroll Quigley
If you want to learn how badly we have been manipulated and what forces and methods are used to this very day, try reading:
Hidden History: The Secret origins of the First World War
and
Two World Wars and Hitler: Who Was Responsible? Anglo-American Money, Foreign Agents and Geopolitics
Those two books will blow your mind forever.
Books are a great way to avoid the social retards, expecially with headphones in so that one can also ignore their stupid retarded "Whatcha reading?" question. -->I know we've all had that happen before... those of us that do read that is.
Books do require a lot of attention though, so I'll opt for an audio book if I'm doing a mundane task like dishes or other chores... or even while lifting weights sometimes.
I find books to be the bomb when I don't have much else to do, like while in a waiting room, when I can't sleep out in the woods with no internet, or while I'm dropping a big greasy shit in the toilet.
I used to read a lot of books when I had time to read them. I've got a few authors I like. But I haven't read any books recently--or rather, I don;'t finish them if I don't find them interesting. My favorite authors are Isabel Allende, Steven King, Dean Koontz and Jacqueline Susann, the first being my favorite.
Yes, I can relate. I read at least an hour a day.
Total bookworm here 📚✨
I paint and watch a ton of movies and series, but I always end up back in a corner with a book or an audiobook, noise-cancelling headphones on, totally gone from the world. Yoga plus reading actually sounds like the coziest combo ever.
What are you into lately, fiction or self‑growth stuff? 😌📖

I read a lot of articles and blogs, but I haven't read books since I was a kid and most of them were fantasy novels like Harry Potter, Eragon, and Redwall lol.
And despite the narrative many people push, I do not believe that reading more makes you more intelligent. It does improve your knowledge if you read non-fiction books. But it does not affect your intelligence... much. It affects your intelligence by...
(this part is AI)
"... building crystallized intelligence (accumulated knowledge and vocabulary) and strengthens fluid intelligence skills like reasoning, pattern recognition, and mental flexibility. Deep reading of complex narratives trains your brain to hold multiple threads, infer meaning, and question assumptions—all hallmarks of practical intelligence. But reading doesn't raise your raw IQ score dramatically."
I agree, reading doesn't raise your intelligence. It can be a sign of intelligence when you look at what kind off material you read, but it never changes your IQ. I don't think anything does except when you challenge your brain. Brain challenges maintain your intelligence, anyway.
Books are source of unfiltered knowledge but they aren't fun for me. I prefer to switch my brain off and to rock up while dancing into trance entire weekend on techno festivals.
Brain is like a muscle, it needs training but it need regeneration time either.
Ew.
No, can't relate, I'm not an English speaking worm, even less so, one eating paper. I identify as an English speaking rat, wandering in laboratories until I find some cheese
Lol!!
Do audio books count? If so... yes.
As far as reading physical books go... that depends on the month and year. I go through phases where I read a lot and then sometimes nothing at all. Time is limited and unlike audio books, reading physical books takes your undivided attention.
I often listen to audio books while working. Maybe 4-5 books a week on average.
I am definitely a bookworm of the worst sort. When I moved into this house, I set aside a room for a library, and that room has long since been filled with a hell of a lot of books. I haven't lived here that long. I've now graduated to a Kindle. While the Kindle takes up almost zero space, I have an extremely large selection of books I purchased on Amazon, which keeps growing. I would rather read than have sex, honestly.
I'm much more of a reader now than I was before. I read ten books last year (though technically, well over 90, if you count each book of the Bible). And I'm currently working on the eighth book this year alone.
I just reas Foster by Claire Keegan. I didn't care much for it. What are you reading?
Elibethan England History and Victorian women authors at the moment.
Oh, like Jane Austen and the Brönte sisters?
Something like that. In reality it's a group of university professors who in each chapter express their critical views of said authors of that period which of course includes bronte society and Jane Austen too as well as many others.
What is the book you're reading talk about?
Foster? A young girl in England goes and stays with some relatives while her mom has a baby and recovery. It follows her life at this home.
I previously read The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I liked it better. A twist
Interesting.
Getting ready to read The Wager by David Grann and The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe.
Do you have them stacked on your side cabinet waiting in line? That's something I do. I have three books on my side cabinet and about another 10-12 inside my side cabinet waiting. Lol!
They are on my bookshelf. I have several I have not gotten to yet.
I've got loads of reading to do but never find the time to do it, anymore. I did most of it on buses on my way to work but have no job, at the moment and loads of other stuff to do right here.
I also like to read, in fact I'm catching up on some of the books I didn't have time to read when I was working. I'm starting a new book today, Roadmarks by Roger Zelazny.
Welcome to the club. Yes, I am a bookworm. 😊
I rarely read books but I read a lot of general stuff on the internet. Also like yoga.
I used to read a lot but it been a while i don’t’ anymore
Fellow bookworm I can totally relate to this.
I listen to books rather than read but reading is coming back into my free time.
So I have a question for you. When I read a book, either a paper book or a book on my Kindle, I often do so to the extent that I eventually put the book down and fall asleep. However, when I listen to an audiobook anywhere but in my car driving and I fall asleep the device that is playing the book keeps right on going and when I wake up the book is usually finished or almost finished and I have no idea how to find out where it left off. That has been a perennial problem that actually has kept me from buying audiobooks unless I'm traveling in my car or on an airplane.
sorry, no yoga and I really do not read much either.
My yoga paramour reads me bedtime stories. Does that count?
Yes, ma'am! Our parents made sure we spend time with books instead of the "idiot-box".
I don't do yoga but I enjoy a good book as a way to chill and escape from the world at times.
Damn you're hot! Great hair, umm.
Yep, reading is good to me.
yeah, its legit one of the few things i let myself splurge money on
I can't read paperback books it takes me to long as I'm a slow reader when it comes to that. But it the same content was put on a screen i can read it fast. It's the way my brain is wired
People who read a lot is common. But whst they read.
They say that women read more than men due to periods and the fact that women have everything important internal except boobs.
Men have it all hanging out, so less need to imagine
That image looks like AI generation
Most probably it is. I found it on pinterest. It's not mine at all.
