According to my mother I was supposed to be a boy. Mom had name, clothes, and everything boy already picked out. Well jn late July of 1997 (I was 4 weeks early) mom had the biggest surprise that day, instead of a little baby boy she had a little baby girl. According to mom the doctors thought I was going to be a boy cause every time she went to her ultrasound appointments they would only see my butt and just assumed.

Its never stated as a "fact". Its a guess.
To my mom, i was meant to be a boy.
Both my kids were said to be boys, and were.
Up to the parents if they want to take the potential risk of the gender not being what was guessed and buy gender specific clothing.
It's hard to recognise a boy, because the indicator is if he has penis, between his legs. But ultrasound is quite blurry, so something MIGHT look like a penis, but not be. It's obscured, so in earlier parts of pregnancy there's no 100% sure, it may be just some blur. With girls it's much easier. If the ultrasound shows that she has nothing between legs, then you're 100% it's a girl, it can't be a boy.
First I've heard of this. Do they give any reasons why they were wrong? I don't have any children, but if this was the case, then we're buying the stuff when he/she is born I guess lol. The gender specific things anyway. Lots of things can be for either.

Sometimes you just don't see the penis on an ultrasound image, thats it.
If you bought things in blue, let the daughter wear blue, no one cares and the baby will be too big to wear them really soon, so you have to buy new clothes anyway. From ultrasounds, we had a rough idea what the sex was going to be. But as the doctor, nurse, and ultrasound technician all told us, sometimes the ultrasound can't see everything clearly. The thing you think is an arm might be a penis, or vice versa.
When we had our kids there was no ultrasound. My wife's grandfather told us what we would get and he went 3 for 3.
To my knowledge, predicting the gender wrong is not a common thing.
because knowing what's in a womans belly without cutting her open is hard and not a perfect process. If your so dissatisfied do it yourself next time.
They knew for both me and my sister, I think most doctors get it right.
There is no way to be 100% accurate in pre-birth gender identification. And no, you can't sue the clinician.
