My daughters dad wants to co parent?

Yet he’s never involved in our daughters life and I end up making the major decisions for her. He never calls too see how she’s doing in school and etc.. he only comes up to see how she’s doing 3 times a year on special occasions like her birthday, Christmas , and Easter no other holidays.. this has been over the last 6 years.. if my daughter doesn’t call him it seems like he’ll never call.. it’s almost like I have to force him to be in her life. I’m concerned about her well being around him since he’s always busy. The only thing he wants is over nights with her forgetting the visitation part when she never lived with him - she’s always been with me since birth

How old is she? How does she feel about it? If he wants visitation he'll have to get a court order. You should talk to an attorney practicing family law.

He doesn’t know how to be a parent and I’m going to let the judge know that- him coming around soaringly to see our daughter when it’s convenient.. I’ll talk to a lawyer today.. for 6 years we tried and he showed no effort in actual being in our daughters life / I have to tell him what to do as the parent if my daughter doesn’t call he won’t call - I allowed him to come around a few years and there was contact with him and her

Your daughter is old enough to have an vote. How does she feel? There's some age where she can see him or not as she wishes. That will depend on where you live.

No she’s not at the age to decide that not according to Louisiana laws. The child can be 11 years old to decide and my daughter isn’t 11.

I’m the domiciliary parent and my daughter loves her dad and wants to spend time with him. If he doesn’t comply I will contempt him to court - my only concern is him not complying and stepping up
