What to do if my parents won’t stop visiting me?

I and my brother rent a house together, it’s much more comfortable than my parents house.

My mom and dad keep visiting us all the time. Mom helps us to clean and cook and when mom is not visiting our dad comes to visit, brings some food and then just sits there on the sofa whole day, watching TV.

Is it hard to understand that adult children need their own space?

I love then to death, I don’t mean to be rude, we also help them financially when they need. But everyone needs their own space right, even if both of us are single, we moved out because didn’t want to live with parents forever…

Have you expressed this to them? Next time tell them to schedule a few weeks in advance and only to stay for a few days at a time.

Idiot… I love them to death - in my language means I love them so much I could die for them. Who said I wish them death? They are amazing parents, it’s just they invade my private space, we are already adults and don’t want to live with parents even when we moved out…

They are perfect parents, loving, sweet, attentive, did everything to give us food and education, even though they never had enough money for themselves.

Now that we live separately mom and grandma stay with us for 4 days because mom has nowhere else to take her and for the other two days my dad keeps visiting us, just sits there with us watches TV.

I love them a lot, but isn’t the whole idea of moving out - that you live free, without your parents being with you all day?

He works 1 day and has a rest for another one. So he comes to us, because we’re all he has, I know that and he loves being with us and just being around us makes him feel comfortable and happy.

But, I can get really irritated if I don’t have a day off from interaction with humans. I am an introvert and need my own space. Growing up my parents were really living in bad conditions, we had just one room and lived there, all 4 of us for 19 years…

It was such a bad thing for us, never allowed to have our own space, that now even a tiny intrusion to my private space, makes me feel very irritated.

I know I am wrong because he loves us and he is very dedicated parent even to this day, but I am tired of not being able to be alone…

He just comes here 3 times a week and stays here whole day, then goes home for sleeping.

It never annoyed me until after my mom and grandma started staying with us for 4 days, after that I am so tired of paying attention to grandma, not being alone and so on that when a dad visits the next day after mom and grandma leave, I feel tired… Not wanting anyone nearby.

Nope… It never annoyed me that much before, but now today for example I wanted to be alone, I and my brother rent this apartment and we have our own space.

My brother was gone outside, I thought I’d be free and alone for a while, i would just spend time alone and then dad visited suddenly. I don’t want to hurt him, he’s very sensitive and loving…
