Why is it so hard to be in a friend group? Why do people hang out with people they HATE?

Eventually you get forgotten, especially if you're the genuine one.

Few people in my group love excluding us, they make plans separately.

One guy bitches and backstabs about people from other group but just now he invited them on a trip with him.

He even invited the one who he had the serious fight with, who blocked him everywhere.

These people are so damn fake.

Was it for the good if I'm not included in their plans?

I hate the fact that few good people are also in the group but I lost them too.
(Only because they love to follow the sheep mentality).

It really hurts because I'm more extroverted but UNFORTUNATELY I love genuine stuff.

Most friend groups are fake and toxic. Everyone is ''nice'' face to face, but behind your back, they talk shit. Just like @LazerBean said, distance from toxicity/fakeness, and surround yourself with good people.

Then why am I not fake like others? Life would have been easier. I tried to be fake so many times but it was so uncomfortable that I stopped. I see people doing it like a pro without feeling a pinch of guilt.

Yeah sometimes I hate myself for being real and wanting authentic things. It feels like I'm the defective one. Like I don't know how people have the audacity to talk sh*t about their friends, judge them then hang out like they're friends for life.

I've a few childhood friends who are real like me. But I've observed that in groups you'll mostly find fake people and the seemingly good ones will follow the group, they're too afraid to stand up for their values.
