Meetup events, why am I not meeting new friends or love?

I used Meetup in the last state I was in. I connected with many, made a few friends and even dated a few. I recently moved, I've been attending the Meetup events and most times I leave disappointed that I did not make a connection. I do make an effort of small talk, which I hate. I don't drink any more l, I have gone to a few bar meetups. I find most groups are clicky and judgmental as well. Some groups are way too young, I keep am open mind. If prefer mingling with older or my age group. Why am I having a hard time despite putting myself out there and attending groups I'm interested in, etc. Hiking, parka, coffee ☕️?

Sometimes the culture of where you're at is just off. That's way my town is; it's a fantastic little place, lots to do, the people are generally decent enough, but the only problem is that everything here has couples in mind. My town is a great place to have a family, but it's not where you'd want to be a single man/woman.

Broaden "hobbies" I do sports, social, "conservative club". I have gotten some Business from it.

If you want to meet people you have to get out on the world & greet people. As for me I recently joined meetup as well & although I joined a few local groups I was think about starting my own as well.
