Am I being greedy/ interested because I just got a license and I want to use my car to go out?

I called my dad asking about when he’s going to get their car fixed we have 3 cars in the driveway the only one that fully works is mine me and my dad both paid half and half with that car and I use it to drive to work. I’m just worried because I would like to go out and now they have my car so I’m worried about if this is going to keep happening. When I told my dad this he told me “I didn’t raise you to be this way so money interested” is it wrong that finally after getting my driver’s license I want to use my own car on my only free day? Before I had my license they were the only ones using my car for all these months. I’m pretty worried about this car situation. I work a lot and I really need to get some fresh air sometimes

You may have to work, save, and pay out of your own pocket AND fix one of them yourself. I mean, you parents are Elders.

I would be hugely impressed if you did that. They have to give you the good car to get to work, right⁉️ And you can post your Work schedule on refrigerator…. And 6 months easily repair one of the beater cars. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't see what money has to do with it.
It's best just let them know in advance when you are going to do something with the car... explain same thing as to us, Saturday is your only free day and you either either go out regularly got a break.

Times are getting tough. The top priority has to be on necessities and having a car for work. If your family is not making a lot of extra cash right now then it makes sense to defer non-necessary repairs until later.

I worry about that too that’s why I advise my mom to get a job too but she never listens saying that she has arthritis when there are also people working with me (in assembly) that are in their 70s and have arthritis as well

Having her be in a situation like your colleagues with arthritis doing manual labor should be a last resort. All else besides food and shelter should be sacrificed first.

Well, if two broken cars aren't being fixed, it sounds like your family might not have the means to fix them. Have a 1-on-1 talk with your dad about why this is happening and try to get his perspective. I can assure you that no normal person wants to be dependent on their daughter's stuff, so something might be going on.

But if his half was a birthday present then the car is yours. They should ask you if they can use your car. That's what I did when our car broke down and I needed to run to the store. I asked my daughter if I can use her car that I bought her for a graduation gift.

The other one doesn’t have air conditioning. I just don’t like this because I’ve been working so much and I just want to use my car
