Don't say anything. Just be present and supportive. Small things like making sure they've got tissues, making sure they've got something warm to drink, and checking with their family if they need anything.

It's common where I'm from for people to cook for someone going through a loss. Maybe that's something to think of.

Make sure you remind yourself to check in on them in a few weeks, a few months, and after half a year. Grief takes a long time to work through, so being supportive isn't just a one time show. It's a process.

Tell them that their child has moved on to great adventures and someday they will be reunited.

Thank you but I don't think there's much to say, it's my fault because I didn't care enough and could do more but I didn't

sorry to hear. sounds like you feel some regret. not sure that is accurate, but we can all have these feelings. hindsight is 20x20. this is why I always say, I try to live fully in the moment so I have no regrets. Why I value Christ's teachings and follow. This is a daily challenge which I fail at, but my guiding daily goal. Life is what is important, not the stuff.

You may be well equipped to take some courses like Dr.'s, counselors would take to help deal with emotional issues, regret, forgiveness. They experience these issues daily and can't have regrets nor

My best advice is if you can take something of value in this life from this... in terms of growth, what that person brought to the world, honor their memory, whatever makes you or others better, then it helps. This why you see people after some tragedy go on tours to help others avoid that same demise and helps them get to a better place as they are helping others live better. making peace with the lost person is the other aspect.

you are in a big position for a young person. I can only imagine what our generation before dealt with... WWII... losing hundreds or thousands of people at a time, out of control. It's all impactful.

hopefully this makes you feel more passionate about caring for people rather than the other direction.
