Is the loss of a grandchild worse than losing your child?

My cousin (one of my grandma's grandchild who is now a father himself at the age of 21) got saved for either getting hurt or losing his life. He was on his motorcycle when suddenly a vehicle hit it and threw him on the ground a couple feet. He was facedown.

Luckily he had his helmet well placed and nothing major happened to him. He's ok but that news nearly made my 81 year-old grandma faint. If he wouldn't been without his helmet or not hastened it, then it would've been a different story.

He could've been hurt badly or killed. Then grandma would likely have a heart attack. She has 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Is losing a grandchild actually worse than losing your child?

Family bonds can be strong. I’ve read of women who had to get hospitalized with physical illness after learning their offspring were harmed by criminals and I had a high school friend who developed mental illness after his mother died and from what I see, he never recovered. When I was 11, a kid I used to hang out with began crying when she saw I was sick, I think she was 4 years old.

Yeah I don't think grandma would be able to handle it if something bad were to happen to any of us. Now she's excited about her two great grandchildren and is actually waiting for me to give her the 3rd one. I'm in a relationship where we want kids, hopefully I have a kid soon.

I have lost my first son. I can tell you that it devastated my family. I think it is hard for everyone but it's harder for the parents

Omg I'm so sorry to hear that. How old was he?

He was 2 days old. Long story short, the doctor killed him and got away with it

Omg, I would go after that doctor and filed a lawsuit against him.

We tried. Since he felt no pain because he was under Anastacia and he wasn't of working age, he had no monetary value.

We called hundreds of lawyers and only one took our case. The judge threw it out of court

The judge did what he thought was right. He followed the law which is now 175 years old.

We did manage to get the neonatal icu department in the hospital shut down

Yes I'm in my 2nd relationship and we've been dating for 10 months now. We do not live together and are waiting till marriage. He knows I don't want to do cohabitation (never done it) and want a child in marriage, the traditional way. He knews we can't be dating for too long either. He's 43 and I'm as my age shows on my profile, 35. My previous ex boyfriend made me waste my time into nothing, he was a taker, taking and taking and giving no commitment in return. He was a narcissist too. Otherwise I would've already been married with at least 2 kids by now.

I think it's a bit relieving you guys manage to shut down the NICU of that irresponsible hospital. I hope things have changed since and doctors and staff actually do their right job with newborn babies.

I'm sorry your first boyfriend was such a jerk. At least you ended it and broke free.

We did have another son after him in another hospital but we can never forget our first son.

The nicu never reopened in that hospital.
