Have you ever had a competitive friendship, and if so, how did you deal with it? How about if you don't compete with them, but they want to compete with you for some reason?
There was a competition for a while between me and my friends, unspoken and making it seem like if we weren't all hitting the milestones first then somehow we were losing. At some point, I started to realize that it was all kind of silly to constantly compare myself to my friends as I'm not them. We all had different strengths and weaknesses and it wasn't fair to show my strength over theirs and rub it in, same with them doing the same to me. You kind of have to learn to let it go, and then share in genuine joy when something good happens to them. That makes life a lot better in general.

I mean my best friend and I are very competitive. But not in the whole my life is better than yours way. We’re competitive in like board games, bets and things like that. To constantly compare my life, accomplishments and failings to her would be a waste of energy and not good for either of us. Sure in some aspects of my life I have more strengths than her and then comparing her strengths I would see my weaknesses. But neither of us will get anywhere in life if we’re constantly comparing
