So here's the thing. No, it's not an exact science. But it's scientific enough to use it as a guide. And anyway, categorizing love in languages can be fun, informative and even helpful, but it can also take the fun out of the whole loving. You might have a preferred love language, but it doesn't mean that it has to exclude another love language. Besides, there's a 6th language of love: distance. Not many people know about it.
Personality tests? Yeah, they're okay. I used to be really into those. But personality tests always give you regrettable traits of a certain personality type, because they take you to the identification with a false identity (ego). So watch out with those. Helpful, but not absolute.
I think the problem with personality tests are that a person is not static. I am not the same person as when I was 20. So personality tests can at best give an idea of how you are "right now". Also what state of mind you're in will effect the outcome of the test.
Kind of same with love languages, preferences and focus might change. I do think it can offer some insight in a relationship where people might have different ways of showing and feeling love, but that dynamic can also change.
In short, people are way more complex and non-static than any kind of test can predict. So it might give some insight at the time when taking the test, but should not be viewed or used as a "box" to put someone in.
Two things. First of all professional personality tests take your age and gender and some other things into account when we score them. Secondly, there are some things that don't change about personality when people become adults and the personality test does not attempt to track these things because there is no need to.
I consider personality tests to be kind of fun, it can be entertaining to see the labels applied to you. As for love languages, I don’t see anything wrong in categorizing how we love different people and it can help in organizing your feelings and understanding what makes you want to keep someone around as well as what you’re comfortable with. The problem is when people believe they’re set in stone because of it, which they’re not. Personalities change, and so does how we love someone in that process.
Love this! You said it very well and I totally agree
for what I've seen, those quite popular personality tests are just scratching the surface of it all... the deeper you go the more intricate and complex is all going to get
they do aim for a simplistic approach which is something we're really not, as people... we're quite complicated, that's for sure

I do for love languages as when someone is completely ignoring my love style, because we do not match up, I feel neglected. If someone is similar love styles, we both feel great.
I also can neglect the other too if I don't consciously try and think about it to meet theirs.
Personality tests, not so sure on, as things in life can alter or change you a bit. Trauma can change things, success or failures can too.
It's not whether you believe in them but if they can help you and your partner which in my experience yes they can. They can't solve anything just help.
The ones on the internet are basically garbage. Professional ones like the MMPI are very accurate, but unless you are me or someone like me, you can't get one and just take it. Even if you could you cannot score it or interpret it. It will tell me a LOT about you if you do take it and I score and interpret it.
Not sure about personality tests, but YES to the love languages. I see them a lot in my family and friends. The only problem is if you want to utilize them, your partner has to be willing and open about it too, which is the hard part I think.
I kind of do. When I took the Myers Briggs, it did describe me well. I am an INFJ, which is supposed to be rare, but I've taken it about 3 times and it ios always the same. So I think there is some truth to them.
Personality test I don't know never done one but I guess they can be fun and give some insight but doesn't have to be correct.
Love languages- 100% I totally believe in that
Personality types? Yes. Personality tests? Not always. Love languages? Hell to the no.
Myers Briggs is absolute nonsense with no backing whatsoever.
The love languages was also made up by someone with no knowledge and training in the field - a pastor.
No... I don't believe in such things (also horoscopes). What about you?
People are complicated beasts but love languages do seem to be a thing.
Yes most of them because of the Science behind them
96% of them are proven bullshit.
Used to do but it is so fake
More than I do in star signs.
