Okay as someone who has grown up in a family who has financially struggled I would say it sounds fantastic. I don’t know the “second” feeling so I couldn’t relate or imagine that. But it would be great to be financially set. From what I’ve heard being the heir comes with more challenges and duties especially being given only one option for the future. Personally I think both heir and spare could be great but I am on the wrong side of things. That'd be impossible since I'm the first born. But ig i wouldn't care so much if they still treated me the same. If they treated me like the spare n ignored for the "important" one then ya I'd be pissed. But people can have kids for different reasons, as long as they still love the kid and treat them like their own person. Like if u wanted to have a boy that got into football like u did, sure that's great, if it works out. But don't treat the kid like shit if they come out a girl, or don't like sports, or whatever. I think that's fair.

Children always know when their parents love them or not. Meaning if they loved me it would not matter why they had me, although telling a child they're a "spare" kid would prove a very high degree of stupidity and cruelty. If, as is my case, the parents didn't love me, I'd still not care very much, and leave the so-called "home" as soon as I could, which is what I indeed did at 16 years of age.
Reading the book now. I don't think he really cares about being the "spare". It is just the dynamic he grew up on. William was always destined to be King. So his attitude towards the monarchy was different. Harry doesn't seem to have taken it as seriously.
