Several men that want to be fathers or going to be dad, usually want a baby boy. It's the gender they can generally relate to more.
It happened to some family relative. Like other men, he wanted a son. Instead his wife ended up with triplets, all 3 were girls. He was only briefly disappointed but then came to loving them more than his own life. He refers to them as his 3 pearls.
Does this happen to many men? Do they get disappointed at first if they never had a baby boy?

I feel like only extremely immature men would make a big deal about this. Most mature men might have a slight preference, but they’ll get over it extremely quickly and love their kids. If they don’t get over it, then that is just extremely immature.
Its completely natural to want what you don't have, like my parents wanted me to be a girl as they got my brother. I think that's the case here, not the medieval "Boy will protect and serve my family"
This sounds like me, I had 3 girls and wondered why I didn’t get a baby boy out of the 3 , I was only disappointed momentarily but got over it quickly, they are all grown up now and I have a good relationship with all of them
