Is it okay to ask a friend to help out when footing a bill at a restaurant?

We usually eat at places in the mall, but oftentimes they don't pay for stuff on their own, should I be more direct with them about them paying for their own?

People who don't pay their own way are "moochers". Nothing wrong with talking about it, before ordering, and everyone agreeing that each is paying their own bill. Be sure to tell the server that you would like separate checks... before you order.

Yeah I would just pay my share and say, that covers me. Or at the outset say my meal costs 8 dollars, I only have 10 that will cover my meal tip and tax. Or just don't have enough to cover them (ie leave money at home). Or just say at the beginning of ordering separate checks. Or most effective, make new friends that don't try to take advantage of you.

When you sit down say it out loud so everyone hears, tell the server the checks will be separate.
