Why do you think my mom emphasize this lesson more than others?

I'm grateful to have good role models as parents. Though I'm wondering about this. If there is one thing my mother kept emphasizing many times in my life, even as a kid (grilling it in my head) and reminded me of it even though I already undestood:

''Never, ever take a man's hard work. Don't be a golddigging coward, destroying lives. If you don't want to commit to him anymore then don't but don't take his life savings. Make your own money. Build your own company. How would you like it someone took away your stuff?

Needless to say I already have my own assets. Yes I wouldn't want anyone taking anything I've worked hard for either. I understand. But among everything taught, why do you think she emphasize that one so much?

Then she would end her lecture with something along the lines:
''I ever hear you've taken a man's hard work, I'll make sure you return every single dime you took from him''. lol

Someone she knew and cared about deeply had everything they worked hard for taken away from them by a woman who divorced them.


She does not want to raise a daughter who will do that to someone.

Maybe. She always seems to go for what's fair. If the person is in the wrong and it's her own gender, she doesn't care... she calls out what it is.

It sounds like she doesn't have much faith that you'll be able to stay married.

I guess but that's a pessimistic view don't you think? I don't even have a boyfriend at this moment and so it would be too early to assume a marriage won't work.
Yet with all the cheatings going on and people breaking-up so much, not being in love anymore (passionate love isn't forever anyways; you have to work with the person's flaws at some point), drama, I can see why this generation has gone to the toilet in regards to commitment.

That's true. Nothing pisses her off more than hearing about another woman earning her status through a man's savings and then taking away his things if she doesn't want commitment anymore. She thinks there is nothing special about marrying a wealthy man and not having your own status on your own already. She gives zero credits to such woman.

My parents weren't kind of poor when they met and both of them help each other build themselves up.

Yeah she's the real definition of what commitment and love should be about and not the pathetic monetary incentive she hates.
I spoke against that one time, against those types of women and someone keyed my car the following week or so, spelling out the words ''stupid bitch''. It was likely from an upset golddiger I assume. They don't like getting called out on it.
