Is it normal to get bored with the topic about marriage and kids?

I'll be turning 17 next month and honestly still feel like a kid. All I think about is going to the movies, playing online checkers and chess, crossword puzzles, b-day parties, going out on a couple dates but nothing too serious (just because I'm dating someone doesn't mean I want to be forever attached to him).

My father and a couple older relatives in my family kept talking about the day I get married and dad walks me down the aisle. I found that whole conversation boring. I have zero interest in even hearing the words marriage and kids. Is it normal or I'm I too immature?

If someone talks about finding true love, that topic gets me bored too.

I don't know why your family is putting you on a marriage train unless they're incredibly old and want to see you married before they're dead. Otherwise, you might mention to them that you're far too young for marriage and politely say, GEEZ, I'm tired of all this wedding walk down the aisle stuff. I'm a kid! Please, please STOP! Thank you so very, very much... Let me be SEVENTEEN!!!

Might shut them up for awhile. You might have old fashioned relatives. Get some noise canceling headgear and put it on when they start. Then leave the room. They might finally get the idea you don't want to hear this stuff... and stop.

You are still a kid, so makes sense for you to feel that way. The topic of marriage and true love won’t seem interesting until you’re an adult, but even then, not everyone wants those things. The same with children. I don’t want children or marriage and I find the topics boring.

You are absolutely correct. You shouldn't even be thinking about getting locked in marriage and having kids at your age. You should be living life, just as you said.

You're very normal, just going on age 17 is totally normal. There are people age 30 are bored with hearing marriage.

Completely normal. Live your life! Have fun! Go to college and get into a great career! If you never want to get married and/or have kids, that’s fine, too. 😌

This is normal, especially at your age. When I was your age, I was very similar. At first, I did not want kids and did not even want to think about marriage. The only thing I wanted was to travel and have fun. Even though you are young, I think you know what is right for you. There's too much to do, and I understand why you don't want to get tied down.

I'm 24 & still feel like a kid lol... it's normal cause of the environment & most important being a girl it's like a pressure like I love kids but marriage scares me too
