I still have to catch up on homework which is due tonight but I hardly got any done because I have family in town. My dad nagged at me for not spending time with my family because I’m always doing homework. First of all I have been spending time since they got here Thursday. I didn’t know they were coming into town until the day before. I have 20 problems left.
my mom also said, “Well you should have gotten it all done. It’s your responsibility to get all your homework don’t. You’re not going to have time to do homework because we have family in town. Exactly what your father was talking about, you’re always in your room instead of hanging around it with them. Yes you should feel bad. Do it when we get back.”
Well they know I have homework to catch up on and tests coming up. Last night after we got back from my grandma house I went straight to my room to finish homework. I know I should have been out there but it’s either pass or fail. I wish my family would have come during the holidays but it isn’t their fault. It’s like everything I do is wrong. We’re going to my cousins house and I'm going with them. I’m not doing my homework there because it’s family time. Too much pressure, I have stuff I need to work on, family is in town and one of my relatives has cancer. I feel like everything is thrown on me.

That sucks, I feel you. Family's important but school is too, ya know? They should understand you gotta focus sometimes. Maybe try explaining it to them like - "I love hanging out, but if I don't get this work done my grade will suffer. Can we compromise?"
See if your fam will give you an hour or two to bang some of it out when things are quiet. Tell your parents keeping up grades is part of being responsible too. And that cancer news has gotta be stressing you out - they should cut you some slack.
This too shall pass. Holidays usually only last so long then you can get back on track. In the meantime, you do you - take breaks when needed and don't sweat the small stuff. Your wellbeing is important too. It'll work out, just take it one day at a time.
Honestly, just say: If I fail this class it's gonna be because of you. If they can't see that you do the work to succeed then what kind of parents are they?
Excuse yourself, tell them you have homework, go do it
