Why is it considered racist when wondering what colour skin a baby will have when a mixed race couple are having a baby?

As a mother of a mixed race baby, I am seriously baffled as to why Megan Markle and others see it as racist for wondering or even saying I wonder what colour skin baby will have. I feel it's pretty natural to wonder these things. Like we wonder what colour eyes baby will have, what colour hair they might also have. We also wonder who baby will look like more, mom or dad, but now we can't wonder what colour skin they will have?

If someone can please educate me on this, i would appreciate it please.

um i guess someone could see it that way but it sounds like normal curiosity to me. interracial babies are pretty interesting and can have cool combinations of traits. one day, someone might ask what race someone is and they might say hmm you know i’m not sure! it’s great.

Its negative perspective issue. Dark is viewed as bad. If thry ever get to where they see dark as virtuous, they will be fine with it.
