Bad cat behaviour putting stress on marriage, what would you do?

My husband has had his cat for 9 years, since he was a kitten found on the street. This cat is skittish, shy, and super anxious. And that's fine, all cats are different, it took him awhile to warm up to me. But I do have a problem with his pica and EXTREME anxiety.

Pica being he will eat any inanimate object he can fit in his mouth and then puke everywhere. We worked on it, got a pet vaccum and clean up after him and work diligently to not keep small objects within reach.

But now the anxiety. My cat had a partner in crime cat who recently passed away and a couple months later we got a new cat to take their place. A 1.5 year old maine coon mix. I love the Maine coon because he plays very gentle with my baby, let's the baby pet him, crawl over him, and he's a lap cat, love me some lap cat. But he's also a huge goofy kitten who wants to play and our old cat only tolerates him.

Que a month later, moving into my mom in law's because the cost of living is atrocious right now and suddenly our old cat is pooping, puking, and peeing everywhere. Took him to the vet, nothing wrong. Never went outside the box before. I think the new kitten and stress of moving threw his anxiety into overdrive. Tried cat spray, more litter boxes, more toys/ cat furniture, anti nausea meds, anti-anxiety meds. Still bodily fluids everywhere.

The limit for me is the cat started pooping in my baby's crib. I felt absolutely freaking psychotic, grabbing the cat by the scruff shoving him in front of his mess, screaming, and throwing him and the shit in the litter box. Absolutely freaking psycho. That's my baby. And I work from home, so I never leave the house, so when he's making messes all day it's atrocious for me. I feel like I'm going crazy.

But I feel like I really hurt my husband's feelings by saying the cat has got to go. I know that's his little buddy, but I am losing my mind and I just won't tolerate the cat pooping in my daughter's bed. And love the new kitten. What would you do?
