I've always been one to give everyone a fair chance when getting to know them, but it seems time and time again, their is a reason why people don't hang out with them etc. Do you agree?
Not necessarily. Reputation is subjective and can be influenced by various factors, including personal biases, hearsay, and selective observations. While widespread consensus about someone's reputation may carry weight, it's crucial to approach such assertions with critical thinking and skepticism. People's perceptions can be shaped by rumors, misunderstandings, or even deliberate misinformation. It's essential to gather diverse perspectives and evaluate evidence before accepting a reputation as entirely true. Additionally, individuals can evolve, and reputations may not accurately reflect their current behavior or character. Therefore, it's wise to maintain an open mind and judge people based on your own experiences and observations.

By definition it’s true. A reputation is not a characteristic of a person. It is how a person is characterized by others. Right, wrong or indifferent, if someone asserts that you are a certain way, THAT IS your reputation. More so if multiple people agree on it.
No and I learned this years ago. It was near the end of my 5th grade year and everyone kept saying how mean the principal was at the middle school I was set to go to. It scared me and I told my parents that I wanted to go to another school. My parents told me not to listen to the rumors. All that talk I had heard about the principal ended being just that. Talk. She was the nicest lady. She wasn’t “mean.” She was firm, but fair. Ever since then, I never listened to rumors about anyone ever again. I give people the benefit the of doubt and get to know them myself.
Usually, yes. At least to some degree. You don't get a good or bad reputation randomly, it's all for a reason.
