Most children want a mother and a father, and feel abandoned when they do not have both, this is instinctual, and most couples want to be a family unit, this is also instinctual.

Housholds today that are not upper class need 2 incomes to get by, not 1. In those cases childcare and chores are to be split 50/50.

Upper class can do single income, but the breadwinner isn't responsible for chores, instead the homebody is, and gets paid by the breadwinner like a normal job to do said chores as their job, ie they become the housemaid/nanny/butler.

You are talking about a lower income class family that does not understand how to behave like adults or raise a child. Those types of people should either not have sex, or get snipped to avoid having children, or wait to have sex until they mentally mature.

2. breadwinner family units are actually the most common, but as I said they only make ends meet under the criteria I mentioned, most families do not meet that criteria because they have sex while in poverty and/or do not behave like adults. Fathers are important because children look towards their fathers to lay down the rules and enforce them. This is not to say that mothers can't do this but children have a tendency to listen to the father more. Fathers are also needed for a feeling of safety and security. When it comes to daughters, girls need their father for security and emotional support. A father can show her how to select a good man versus the bad boy types. When it comes to sons, boys often take after their fathers. Boys need their father to help them navigate through a society that often looks down upon men. Like for instance that bear vs man meme. A boy might not understand what's going on with that meme but if he has a father to explain it to him and tell him that it's a bunch of bs, then he will have a better outlook on life.
