Should I feel as bad as I do about almost driving into a wreck scene?

There was a wreck on a two way road. There were cops and fire trucks everywhere. I got out on a hill above to look. There was another guy and he said it looks like they're letting people through. I drove down there. When I was about to pull out on the two way road, there was a fire fighter on my right holding a stop sign in the opposite direction of the wreck. I looked the other way torward the wreck. There was another firefighter standing on the side of the road. No sign or anything, so I slowly started driving that way. He ran out in front of my, waving his arms, so I immediately turned around and drove the other way, and went and drove around and went the proper way. I feel really bad because I dont think I was using my head. Im afraid maybe I did something that negatively impacted the way they were able to do there job.

There should have been some better traffic control.
However, at first it should be the police directing traffic, fire/ems are too busy checking on the victims, looking for any hazards, possible extrication, and until all of that is done and any patients have been addressed, and, in the ambulances, there might not be enough people on scene for traffic control.
MVAs can be pretty dynamic at first.
